New sound from Cloud9!

Hey all,

Its been nearly 3 months since I had an idea for a song. Had the serious creative block on & was quite worried as my second album is due out in a month or so.

The result is a bit like stepping on a hose pipe & I havnt stopped recording since yesterday, very tired lol.

My new song is called 'What Really Matters' & its from my forthcoming album.

Download an mp3 clip

Listen to full realaudio stream

Enjoy

God bless

Lewis

I really like this one Cloud. Great vibe to it. The sounds are much better than your early stuff - is this you drumming?

Lewis-

I like it, mellow, jazzy and cool but 30 seconds is hardly enough.

It's cool lewis,

If i may add 1 suggestion it would be to work on the drumSOUND (not the playing). Do you play midi pads? , maybe try using some more 'not so clean' sounds to spice it up

Otherwise ... keep it up!

Im drumming on all my tracks its just on an electric kit. Just bought some new pads for it & they are much more responsive, now what I play is whats recorded wink.

Gradually making the studio better

Thats what the realaudio stream is for. Been trying to find a better way of doing this but at the moment, certain tracks on the site are free for download but if visitors want the rest of the tracks, they must either buy a CD or join my Digital Music Network (my NPGMC).

But all realaudio is in full to give a sample of the track but many tracks cannot be downloaded as a full song as no one would buy my album if I gave it all away for free.

Any suggestions??

Those are the only decent drum sounds I have for the moment. The electric kit I use is an alesis D4 & the internal sounds are very dated. The drums on this track is a vst instrument called LM7 triggered by the midi signal from my electric kit. Looking for more VST instruments but they are so expensive!

The realplayer never seems to work for me from your site.

Not sure why. Maybe I need an upgraded player. I don't think they have an OSX version out yet.

The mp3 clip sounds great!

Can I use it for a commercial?

The Roland Expansion bays are sweet!

That way you have a controller hooked up to the bay and buy the expansion cards. Roland makes great sounds.

We've spent hours just going through the banks. Some cards hold over 1500 sounds!

The drum and percussion card is amazing.
(One of these days, I want to get the V-Drums. Then hook it up to the expansion cards. that would be ideal. But never get rid of my standard kit!)

that looks cool.

I used to work for a drum shop in london demoing drumkits. I did a demo for the roland V drums when they first came out & all I can say is, if ya can afford it, buy it. Its the best electric kit Ive played & if I was blind, I would struggle to tell the difference between that and an accoustic kit.

But still not the same wink. Cant beat the real thing.

Just found a shitload of VST instruments on kazaa! Interesting...

Lewis, u r still the man. Is this going 2 b an instrumental only? I could almost hear a vocal vibe or a solo instument lead like a flugelhorn groove like Chuck Mangione...What u think?

I'll just have to wait for the cd because I hate RealPlayer and all versions will be avoided. Let me know when the new disc comes out.
