Hey everyone! I am editing this post because there are people who always take things I say the wrong way. Otan is right and so is Red, about how all site design and operations questions about the NFO need to be asked on the NFO forums site. There was absolutely no harm meant by what I said in the original post, other than the fact that we have a NFO forum for ourself now, and we shouldn't fill up Ben, Matt, and Kevin's workload with posts on Prince.org that just cause more moderation work for them, not to mention that us posting NFO stuff here would be like if McDonalds opened up a burger stand right in front of a Burger King on Burger King's property. That would eventually get very upsetting to Burger King, especially if Burger King had to be the ones managing what McDonalds was talking about on their property, all the while, McDonald's would be operating separately from Burger King. It is just not good ethics, that's all I am saying.

However, Prince.org doesn't mind us talking about the NFO here , from what I have heard from Ben and Matt. Actually, they are very happy to help us promote the project and will do so in the future. It helps us and them, and we will all work together to get each other some good promo.

Please, just be respectful and do things in moderation and not in excess, so that we can all get to where we want the NFO to be and to preserve freedom of the arts.

Red, I'm sorry if you took offense to this post. But, in reality, it wasn't directed at you! So, if you feel that way, it must have affected you somehow.

The only way this was supposed to affect someone is to let people know TWO things.

1. PATIENCE. We in the NFO who run it do not have big bucks like other companies and artists. Therefore, it will take lots more time to get things running the way they need to be. We all have regular lives outside of the NFO.

2. ORGANIZATION. The NFO does not meet in "secret" to plan anything that no one else does not know about. In fact, most of us are not secret at all. In fact, no one on this site knows your real name. We would like to, but you seem to be secret yourself. At least I put my identities in code. Also, right now, we need to get some kind of structure formed, so that is why I directed everyone with NFO related topics to the NFO forum site.

Red, I love you and I love your ideas. We all welcome your ideas and participation. I would even like to see you become a key role player in the NFO. But, we need patience and organization right now. We are working on a zero dollar budget and trying to get pennies from pennies, so it will take time.

All fine and good until someone begins thinking that we are stepping on toes and operating NFO business on PRINCE.ORG. Do you see my concern here? We, the NFO, are our own separate organization. We should not operate business here on Prince.org. Yes, it's cool to post some updates here, but it would be nice if actual members would share the ideas about the NFO at the NewFunkOrder forum site rather than putting them here on a completely different organizations forum.

That's all I am saying.


So, as in the Articles, which I'm sure some folks haven't even read, everyone is responsible for their own individual actions as participants in the NFO. If you choose to post here, and the site owners get a little upset that you are moving in on their territory, then it is your issue, not mine or anyone elses.

Isn't this something we wanted for a while now? Our own board? When a thread gets started at Prince.org AND the NFO board about the SAME subject, don't you see a problem there? All our information should be in one place, otherwise this is going to get REAL confusing. I'm talking about threads relating to web design, marketing, promotions and things like that.

I don't mind at all, my flower. As far as NFO business, it doesn't matter to me. Whatever you guys decide is fine. I'm done with classes for now - no more this summer! I've got to start teaching school soon enough. I'm still doing acoustic gigs 2-3 times per week. I'm going to start doing some more recording very soon...

The whole thing is really getting, for lack of a better word, stupid.

If somebody don't wanna register, ain't no pressure. If they wanna continue talking about the NFO here, it doesn't bother me. But yeah, it WOULD be ideal to find all threads on one site, but, there ain't no laws or rules about it.

Talk about it wherever you want. There are a few things that should be kept to the nfo site, tho - evaluating current concepts for the site, stuff that directly pertains to the NFO - like, who we like and who we wanna kick in the seat.

Not that I'm talking about anybody, Red.

Probably wise to take the real biz into the back room. This forum was set up by Ben on the suggestion of others, to discuss and generate new ideas, hear new music, network with musicians, etc. and it will still be here...until NFO is up and distributing the flow for Artists of all kinds I will bet Ben is rather proud of the energy in this particular forum. Face it guys, it's the only constructive forum on P.Org
