New and exciting things are underway.

There will be some heavy migration with all of my customers this week so to keep the ball moving, we want to personalize this new site as much as possible. We'd like to see more photos, whether it be of yourselves playing live or at home "posin' by da piano" or scanned images of song lyrics, poetry, or sheet music.

The organic feel we want for the site, we want to show/express the creative process. And the more input from the artists, the better.

Keep sending those master files to:
ftp://ftp.newfunkorder.com/

username: giveme

or by mail to:
Digital Soundscapes Studios
730 Lynnwood Drive
Lake Worth, FL 33461

so yamomma can have that product ready for everyone.

Also, if anyone has some design ideas for each of these products:
http://www.cafeshops.com/newfunkorder
submit them as well to admin@newfunkorder.com

We'd also like people to keep this thread alive as well:
http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=46766

Thanks to all those who contibute.

no, we have everything that has been sent already. We were looking for personal things like hand written music, photos of your favorite peice of gear, or a screen shot of your music as one might be creating on the computer, etc.

Things like that to make the site more personal and express the creative process.

These items would be used for a mural like peice for backgrounds and eye candy stuff.

My Biog:

Lewis Partridge, is a 19 year old musician from England.

Born on Christmas Eve 1983, Lewis began his musical career at the very early age of 3 when parents (John & Alison) bought his first Drum Kit. Inspired by his father - John Partridge, Lewis began to play Drums at every opportunity & soon employed the teaching services of Big Band drum teacher - Freddy Wells (who also taught Gilson Lavis of Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra). Freddy gave Lewis a solid rhythmical base for his music.

Lewis was first performing in public when he stood in with The Wellington Bootles (for whom his Dad plays Bass Guitar) aged 7. Lewis found his own first band aged 9 & began performing concerts in & around his local town.

Aged 7, Lewis was introduced to the Piano by his father. The Piano served as a composing instrument for many of Lewis' first songs. He developed his rhythmical Piano playing style when school Piano Teacher - John Blackwell became Lewis' teacher from 1999-2001. John Blackwell instructed Lewis in Jazz Piano technique & music theory while he attended Northfields Upper School.

Lewis was taught Guitar & Bass by his father & took to the Bass Guitar especially (aged 9). Lewis found that the Bass was a key element in Jazz & Funk music, styles Lewis was beginning to embrace.

At Northfields Upper School, Lewis began learning the Tenor Saxophone with woodwind teacher - Andy Stuart. Northfields Swing Band also employed Lewis' drumming services & he toured with them to many foreign countries including Holland, Spain & Italy for 3-4 years. Many thanks to Mr Steve Merriman & The Northfields Swing Band.

Much of Lewis' inspiration comes from the prolific work of God, Prince, Donny Hathaway, Tracy Chapman, Sly & the Family Stone, Miles Davis, D'Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, Rosie Gaines, Remy Shand, Sheila E, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Jaco Pastorious, David Bowie, Boyz II Men, James Brown, Maceo Parker, Bootsy Collins, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Parliament/Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Ray Charles, BB King, The Yellow Jackets, Steely Dan, Angie Stone & The Beatles to name but a few.

Lewis is now a professional Drum teacher at Greenbank Music Village.

The Cloud9 Mission is a musical project by Lewis Partridge, a 19 year old musician from England. All music heard on this website is composed, arranged & performed entirely by Lewis. It is a collection of music & dreams for the appreciation of the world.

Why The Cloud9 Mission? The expression Cloud9 is used to convey happiness. Lewis wanted to use simply 'Cloud9' but, as this was not original & Cloud9 has become more of a Christian mission to change the music scene since it was originally devised, The Cloud9 Mission seemed more appropriate. The entire project is about inspiring happiness & positivity through God's gift of music.

Lewis began writing the songs for The Cloud9 Mission in early 1999. Recording started in 2001 & this web site followed shortly after.

Everything you hear on this site is composed, arranged & performed entirely by Lewis.
