Un4tunately my computer and set up had been down for coming up to 6 weeks so therefore I have been unable to play an active contribution within the NFO as of late.
I have also been touring and performing quite a lot of the past couple of months and thus I haven't even had time to do anything for the NFO, my artist roster or myself. However, I will do my best to get a .wav file stateside to see how the CD goes. I really don't want to see the integrity of Dodson's brainchild being questioned. Viva NFO! 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

This thread was not meant to be offensive, it is only a motivation tool to bring people to the table and see why some formerly active members were seemingly inactive during the meat time when we had a window of opportunity for HUGE promotion about 4 weeks ago. Now I know that a few members were experiencing computer problems, and I am sure that there are other completely legitimate reasons that some did not contribute during that period of time.
Eh, never mind. The project is just music. You guys take it where you want to. I will continue doing what I gotta do, I encourage you all to do the same. If Project 2 doesn't materialize, it is not the end of the forum as we know it. I am thankful that Project 1 was heard as widely as it was. Anyhow, no offense by the post. By the way, I didn't have any friends in media either until I started this project and my solo projects. All I did was e-mail editors about the project and let them know what was going on. It's not that hard, really. All you gotta do is tell them about it and ask about a press release. Most papers respond very well to the idea. Peace, JD

How many NFO artists know about Camille's fansite? Looks like only 10:

Does he care? 5 responded to this thread: http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=47651 4 http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=48319 You get the point. I think this is Jason's point, and if it isn't, it's mine! This really bugged me a few months ago, then I just let it go. (Keep in mind I'm not counting Yamomma, NFO and Red, who have been actively involved without contributing a song.) It appears that not everybody knows what has gone on. Maybe they were lurking, but think about this: If you don't at least post an emoticon, we don't know you are here. Now, maybe I'm just small time, but I find this all exciting: press releases, internet promotion ideas, interaction, brainstorming. It's fun too, Otan is super funny, heck, we're all a little crazy. We all have valuable knowledge and experiences to share. I know, some members are hella busy with other music projects and life in general, and we don't all have the luxury of checking in while we are at work. By definition, the members that responded to this thread already are not the ones who this was about. Its the ones who may never see it. Again, I know some members have a real life and lots to do with their personal music projects. Sometimes it seems that just 5 of us are making decisions and "getting involved". I also realize it's hard to sift through the threads here when you've been gone for a while. Maybe we really should have our own forum. I'll create an MSN community if all the members agree (ha, just kidding), their message borads are easier on the eyes than the yahoo groups and you don't get as much spam with them. Check out my little group for an example. I just created it about a month ago. http://groups.msn.com/VinaBlue

You know i respect you Vina, but is it really necessary to count the number of posts everyone made?

Don't worry about promotion until the site is completely up and ready. There really isn't anything going on at the NFO site, save for the music. When NFO has it up, running, ready for viewing and interaction and possibly...possibly a CD available for purhcase...it's ready for promo. Of course the original mandate was/is 'free' music...and that's probably how it will remain for those willing to download; however, not everyone wants to DL and if there is a CD available to buy...why not sell it.
Relax, write, and in the meantime perhaps compile a 'hit list' of sites, mags, rags etc. that you want to send a release to when the light turns green. Again, no sense sending press peeps there to see half the picture.

Don't be mad Lol, I'm not mad. Just pointing out what I have seen. I like visuals. A little extreme, huh? But that's me. And it's not how many posts, its how many members posted, some of them numerous times on those threads. Out of 18 artists, you see the average and it's kind of a bummer sometimes. There were many other threads too... but I got tired. I see you're on most of those.

Found a writer.
She'll be doing an interview soon. I gave her a bunch of stuff to take home tonight. I thought she could do it from my office. When she's ready with the questions, I'll post a date and time when most people can participate in this at the same time right here. cool? From that, she will make a nice write up for us.

As far as the site goes, we have this free-be that we have to finish first, because it came way before the NFO.
http://www.pblcoc.org (demo site) they have a huge amount of data that we are moving to a cold fusion server to hook up too with auto updates and lots of dynamic pages as well as hooking their own server to the external one. I want to cry when I think about how much we got ourselves into... Their library of audio, video, and literature is a whole lot more than I anticipated. Kinda makes us wish we hadn't aggreed to do it. At least we have the NFO to look forward too when it's over.

we're reaching a good stoping point for now on that project. Lord knows I need a breather. And then it's back to the NFO with our "spare time". (that means the wee-hours of the morning)
newfunkorder.com has a great server package now and will be able to accomodate just about anything we want to do.

Yep. I took care of that. Me and you both are on that song and it is officially copyrighted federally under New Funk Revolution Productions, which lists Isaiah Tolbert and Jason Dodson as the CEO's. Peace, JD
