How about mp3.com and copyrights?

Hi everybody,

I've put up some songs at mp3.com a while ago. Yesterday my friend and I finished three other tracks and I want to put them up too.

But I never really read the "agreement" with mp3.com and I'm a bit worried now: if I put up songs at mp3.com, what's in it for them? In other words, if I put up a song, do they own my work or is it still possible for me to release the songs in other ways without legal complications concerning mp3.com???

you own the song. Your song is copyrighted when it's recorded. MP3.com holds no ownership on your songs, they make their money through the sales of CDs and membership fees.

Cafepress.com offer about the best deal as far as CDs go. Ive made more profitable sales via them in 2 months than I did in a year a half at mp3.com
