A song came to me in a dream!

Ok, just the chorus. rolleyes But I remembered it and wrote it down. I found the notes on the piano. I've always heard music in my dreams, but I've never been able to recall it.

Check this out. This chorus I just got right now sounds like Angel of Harlem by U2. It's not, though. I just checked the sheet music. It's that style. Where the heck am I gonna find a brass section?!?!? This is so weird, I don't write this kind of music! I wish I was Sting, then I could call up the Memphis Horns and say "Come on over for lunch today, I have this idea I want to work on." I guess I wouldn't need them until the song is done though. Who knows when that's gonna happen.

Share your stories of the same experience. Are there any songs you've shared with us that came to you in a dream? Have they ever been totally different than your usual writing style?

I dream with music almost everyday sometimes I know the song, sometimes it is mix of two songs, I dreamed with Steve Tyler singing over a guns n roses track, one time I dreamed with Prince singing in portuguese, one time I dreamed with Axl Rose showing me a new track from Chinese Democracy, once i dreamed i was in a palace playing organ and I didnt recongnize the music that I was playing. Most of my dreams are improvisations so it's very difficult to remember everything, but i have lots of pieces of music that came in dreams but i never finished. I dont no why but i never finish them, i just let them the way i remember them. The longest dream that I had was a dream that i had that i was watching TV and I was seeing a video clip of Michael Jackson and Hendrix together, it's was a rock song and it was great, but when I dreamed this I didn't have the musical perception to pick it by ear. Sorry i think this text is confused but I am tired and i won't read it again to find mistakes. english is not my main language after all. Bye bye Vina! :**

daym, i dont know how 2 write or read msic at all. Not that Im trying though. I never heard of the song by U2, nor am eye a fam of theirs anyway..hmm. I remember having a dream of a country tune by a vey very old white man.

There was animation of a cartoon Black & White sun fading away, and this strange old man voice singing so beautifully from no where like he was crying...i dont even know what he was saying with an acoustic guitar.

When I woke up I had tears in my eyes and all over my face, and I said 2 myself that was the most beautiful song ever written.

I tried 2 make a song out of it, but it never came through...
Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I always have a soundtrack to my dreams. Camera angles too. Sometimes it's in the third person, which is weird.

I've never used any of the music as a source of inspiration though. Maybe I should start?
