CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A NEW KEYBOARD/WORKSTATION? I am looking for something basic with a sequencer large enough to have a one song capability with at least 6 tracks or more that has a Linn Drum sample preset that is there to use on recorded tracks.
Any ideas? My main goal is to have a linn drum sound in some of my music. Note: I do not have a computer. Peace, JD

A friend of mine uses a keyboard to do all his stuff - and it's nothing but samples. I'll ask him what he's got. I'm sure it's pricey tho. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

If you´re looking 4 ways 2 store your songs
on the keyboard & not in the computer U should take a look at the KORG TRITON.U save your songs in Smart Media. There´s a sampler in the synth so U can sample Linn sounds from a cd. 4 my forthcoming project "Electro luv" I borrowed a new swedish drummachine that´s outta sight. It uses synthesis & not sampled drumsounds, meaning it´s a synth & U create your own percussionsound. With all those filters & effects controlling each sound U can get some REALLY spaced out sounds since it´s drawn inspiration from vintage drummachines U can also get some serious LINN sounds 2. www.machinedrum.com /peace Manki [This message was edited Sun Jun 22 2:35:16 PDT 2003 by manki]

The LinnDrum patch/disk can be found at www.patchmanmusic.com
(VOLUME 14 LinnDrum - The original classic sounds have made countless hit recordings.) The Triton and The Motif are both great. What I like about the Motif is you can incorporate vocals, live guitar and samples into your sequences and change the tempo without the "chipmunk" effect. Which is useful for gigs and recording.

Good god man, get a PC!
PC hardware is so cheap, you can build or buy a little PC to run your MIDI sequencing etc for SO cheap. Much cheaper than dedicated hardware. Nowadays you can build a really nice PC for a couple hundred dollars...

Build?!?!
We're trying to create! Okay, peep the new Roland Phantom-S/S88. That monster can sample, sequence, tweak, alter, freak, all within minutes, no mouse required! You can hit them little pads at the top right to trigger samples! Funk on! http://www.rolandus.com/p...Fantom%2DS http://www.rolandus.com/p...ntom%2DS88 Ooops, forgot the [img]...
