New song...

Finished a new instrumental today. It's called Release Me and starts off kind of jazzy with a funk part in the middle. Tell me what you think!

For the streaming version just open the audioplayer at http://www.bigthing.net (BTW , i added a song position bar in the player, now you can easily FFWD or REW the songs)

or download the mp3 : http://www.bigthing.net/m...ase_me.zip

Love this song.

The slow build, the subtle funk just the whole damn thing. I listened to it about 10 times.

The delay keeps a vibe, the loop is solid, the solos seem to be what I hear as subtle.

edit - Is that feedback at 4:51???

Vina - You are worthy, Get up

Cloud - Try again, you have to click the 'launch audioplayer' button

Slave - Glad you like it. The sound at 4:51 is a delayed synth sound with lots of resonance

To all: The Bass 'solo' that starts at 2:55, It's been driving me crazy , but sometimes i think it's a bit out of tune and other times i think it's tuned ok. Can someone with good relative pitch hearing comment on this?

Thanx!

Lol. Some of you guys spit out these cool tracks like nothing, so prolific. Anyway, this is a great track. (As usual) I like how it builds up, you're great at that. The drums that come in at 1:20 are awesome. Baseline is GREAT. All I can do is praise you.

This reminds me of some of the instrumental New Age cds I have. Hope that's a compliment to you. Tom Vedvik comes to mind. He isnt quite as funky as you and leans more into Eastern music, but there is an ethereal quality to your music. Love it.

The bass solo sounds fine. It's ok to go a little off sometimes. But it doesn't sound off to me. Now the chords at 3:21 are questionable, but that just adds a little flavor, ya know? It makes you go "Hey, what the heck is going on? Where's he going?" Then you return to the "right" key and the "right" notes and it sounds sooo good to be home again.

You'll have to send me that .fla file of your web player.

Our designer wants to make something different out of it.

Cool?

Cloud - check my orgnote

NFO - I can mail you the source file , it's about 800 kb, the code has gotten pretty complicated over the months so i hope you can make something of it. It's mostly actionscripting (flash MX)

J - Ofcourse you can use my track. You can download all mp3's off my site. (roll your mouse over the title of the 'currently playing' textfield and you get a download link)

Nice tune man! You are good smile. PS Ive got fairly modest relative pitch but your bass solo sounded fine.

Why not put the .fla file into a movie clip so it can just be dragged & dropped into their design wink & ya know I'd love to have a look at that source file too hint hint lol wink

God bless

I REALLY liked "Acoustic". I listened to it over and over yesterday - just forgot to come back and throw a mention up here for you. Great track - spatial, open and well structured. Made me wanna do an acoustic tune like that, but, you know, MY version would sound more like a drunk falling ONTO an acoustic guitar - I just never had the Acoustic Touch.
