My NFO, Project 1 CD, Personal Review.

Ok, here are my top 5 favorites on the NFO. I am excluding 3 because I was involved in the making of them, so that would be biased. (Liberation, Nothing's Alright If It Ain't In Line, and Move). I rate them on my personal taste ONLY, not by composition, and they are not necessarily in official order.

1. Lust. I am fond of this song on many levels. Of course, I really dig the raw funk in the track. Very "Controversy" era-ish.
2. Make Funk Not War. I like the song because of the title, and because I like the "For You" era funky sound to it.
3. Burnin' Up tie with Junkie. I know some cats are gonna really wonder why I picked that song, but I really dig the drums, the very unique sound and vocal arrangement, and I think the video matches the song perfectly. "Junkie" is cool, and I dig what DJEmale did with that song- the music has a "3AM driving on the outskirts of the city with the city lights glowing on the far horizon" feel to it.
4. F*ck The Taste Out Your Mouth. I love the reverse bass track, I really like many of the lyrics, although the chorus line I can't play around certain peeps, but I dig the synths and the drums as well.
5. Surrender To Truth. I like this song because I really like Collette's voice, and I really like the almost Asian sound to the song. Plus, the bassline is funky, and the drum sample is real nice.

This does not mean that all the rest are lesser in my eyes, I just like the styles of the songs above more than others. I really like "With The Fog, Kiss Your Star" also, and I like Cary and Beau's Rock and Blues/Funk type stuff also. I like the whole CD, but right now, I wish there was more participation from some of our artists, and I especially wish that people would submit their .wav files to the NFO FTP site.

Peace,
JD

Sweet! Thanks, man. I can't wait to get this thing to radio stations. I hope we can get everyone else's also. Plus, I am itching to get started on Project 2!
