Hey Ropy, I got it to work.
Dare: I like the style of music you're doing, with the latin influenced acoustic guitar. Your voice is really great. Good songwriting too, the bridge is awesome! Your style of singing is very unique. I'm trying to place who you sound like, but I can't. You have a very soulful voice. On a Sunday Afternoon: I REALLY like the vibe of this song! Very dark and moody. Almost a Fiona Apple style, hope that's a compliment to you. Great lyrics and again your voice is very cool, as well as your melodies. Did you record this all at home, or go to a professional studio? Do you have a cd coming out?

I have no problem with those copmarisons because even though I personally haven't been influenced by them, I think they're awesome! So, yes, Fiona is a compliment...thank you! These tracks are actually demo songs. I have several ideas on what I would incorporate in the final production which I hope to begin soon as well other songs I have. I programmed the music in my own recording studio, then added my vocals and acoustic guitar at a more professional studio where it was also mastered. I took a listen to Move and I like it! It's very chill and mysterious. I hear early Prince written all over it too. I think it's great that we can share our same interests here. Keep it comin! Love, Ropy

Hi Ropy, and welcome!
Took a listen. Your voice is strong, and seems to be versatile...I would love to hear you really let it rip and knock some muthas down on the floor! Yes, "Sunday Afternoon" has a nice feel. I'd personally like to hear more vocal harmonies and overdubs. "Dare" is an all round good song. How old are you? -------------------------------------------------
Something new for your ears and soul. http://artists.mp3s.com/a...dadli.html

Ropy-
Posted in the ear vs. theory section before I read this thread. I really like your work. I can't believe you play all of the instruments?!? Please org note me and tell me if you have a cd. It's cool that you haven't been influenced by the people that you sound similiar too. It makes the music cooler to me somehow. How much did you have to do with the engineering/mix? Do you play live? Love the soul and vibe of your voice in "Dare" with the spanish mix, it's great stuff.

I agree, these are some of my "softer" side songs, not privy to bringin' the muthas out of the d.f. hehe - those are currently in production. As for the "how old are you question" now you know I'm gonna ping pong it back with the "Why, how old do I look?" question. Thanks again!

Thank you so much. You're much too kind. Here's the deal - I don't play all the instruments per say, I programmed them with the exception of the acoustic guitar on "Dare" which I played. Everything else is all synth. I recorded all the music in my own studio using the Sonar XL sequencer and then layed the vocal and guitar tracks at a more professional studio. I had an engineer do the final mix, however I did have a lot of say as to how I wanted it to be mixed down. I used to play live in several venues in NY but left the band to write my own songs, so these are really just demos of better production to come. The cd I have now is currently not for sale as it is used for demo purposes only. It would feel weird for me to sell it when it needs so much more work. The final product will no doubt involve all real instruments, over dubs, harmonies....the works. Thanks again Slave!!! That's my kinda girl! I use Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and I do everything on synth myself as well. I don't play guitar though. I haven't made it to a professional studio yet, but I would love to. Don't have much money right now. That's so weird! I was singing back up for a friend a few years ago and I got really frustrated and started working on my own stuff. I'd like to go for "the works" too!
