I listened to the 5/19 track. Sounds like things are coming along. I still have to go back and check out the other ones.

thanx 4 emailng me about it!smile B sure 2 review mine also next time...

my favorite: Old Song (Song 2):

Nice slow jam kinda sounding song. 70's guitar, and well done bangin drums. Can b exceptional 2 havin vocals

Surf Song - Needed the vocals turned up a bit at the beginning. Sounds like a 60's -do-the-mash-potato tue. very nice drumwork.

Just another jam - The beat is cool, but the bass sounds distorted. But since this is just a rough jam it dont matta. Sounds aiight. NICE WOW WAKKA 70's guitar work man!

Okay. Slave.

These songs are interesting, but they sound really improvised on the spot - just like jamming, but I know that you're working on them, because you've got different versions of the same song. So I'm sort of baffled. There's the start, stop, and then re-start... if I were you, (and this is just my opinion, which is totally right every time, except that time I told somebody to buy stock in Martha Stewart) edit out the bad starts.

Even though you're putting up the songs as they develop, which is a very cool idea, you still wanna work on the presentation of the songs themselves, make it easier for the listener to identify what's going on in the song. Hope that makes sense, and I KNOW the comment has absolutely nothing to do with the song.

I LIKE the sound quality - it's definitely picking up. Another suggestion - try working without the wah pedal so much - it sounds like you're using it all the time - it can become a crutch. So using and not using it will add another dimension to the song. "Oh - here's the part WITH the wah, here's the part without the wah" helps the listener identify chunks of the song.

Whup it up yo!

Sorry to say that I co-sign this thread. I tried to listen today but the music will not load. I will try again when I am able and I will use RealOne instead of my MusicMatch.

Peace,
JD

Everyone else can save the mp3's to their hard drive and then play them. Some people who use Realplayer had no problems.

I'm not sure what else to do but I'd like everyone to be able to hear.shrug

Hi Slave2dagroove,

I've managed to download an listen to your tracks. I have to agree with otan in the sense that these tunes are more like work in progress than finished songs. The style of the songs reminds me a bit of Jimi's music when he was just jamming, and that's a good start I would say. My favorite is the "surf song", as it sounds most like a finished song and therefore sounds most promising.

You still have to work out some proper arrangements for these songs and add some vocals or lead guitar to spice them up a little.

I don't want to be rude but you asked for feedback: maybe you should get another drummer for your band, I don't think he's very tight.

But anyway, keep going and let me know when you finished some more tracks...

Thanks for the feedback!

I've came up with these songs and taught them to my friend who plays bass. I would fire the drummer but...IT'S ME! Yeah, I could be a little tighter but it's all work in progress. The surf song had a different drummer but the rest are me.

Thanks again for your honesty.

Well if anything, it's a testament to your mixing/recording style, that it sounds like that whole thing was recorded live! So hey! a HIDDEN compliment.

Back to my lurking and slaving at work today. Sheesh what happened to the days when I could spend all my time HERE.

I'm sorry, man, I hope it's obvious I never intended to hurt your feelings about the drumming...

ROTFLMAO! No offense taken whatsoever. It's all a compliment (otan's point well taken). Thanks again for your feedback.
