Let's make various Prince guitar/keyboard medlies! I know I've posted about this topic before, but I'm still trying to come up with some good Prince medlies to do at one of my acoustic shows. Last night I was working on various songs that are in the key of E. I had put together "do me, baby", "she's...my hair,""sisia,""the cross,""count the days,""when u were mine," and some others. Ok, your turn now...

Purple Rain, Gold, The morning Papers and Blue light flow cool together, and I think are all in "Bb". I am not sure.
Don't forget sometimes it snows in april in the E songs.

Be careful... "Do Me, Baby" is in Ab minor... ...the first chord is an Emaj7, though -SWANG'sjustryintohelp

Y'all DO know how to change the key of the song to match your voice, right? so, then, you could do ANY song in ANY key - this concern with what key the original is in... is you CRAZY?
I'll do KISS in G one night, then in A the next, then in E another night. It don't matter, it's the same song, I'm just putting it where it feels good. Sorry - about the post: Alphabet Street - the acoustic version - cool way to do it. Sometimes it Snows in April is an obvious choice. But - do "forever in my life" into "it" like on the SOTT movie. THAT's a good combo. [This message was edited Thu May 22 21:02:36 PDT 2003 by otan] The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

There's no worries with his register if he has a good falsetto.
I wouldn't like hear Purple Rain in G or C.

I realize that you can change the key of the song and the untrained ear is never the wiser. I was just kind of looking for songs that flow well together. Really, I've been able to transition songs together of different keys, but thought that this would be fun. Do Me Baby in Abm, I've been playing it in G#m...hehehhehehhehehehee. BTW, my playing partner has a fit if I change the key of a song (I guess he doesn't like it to be easier for him to sing).

The guy who sings in my band does not like to change the keys too. He prefers not to sing. If he can't reach.

You could change the chords a bit and blend "Do Me Baby" and "If The Kid Can't Make You Come"- that would be a very sexy combo.
