okay..it happened again...

someone took my personal email address from my org profile and sent me some spam trying to get me to join his group on yahoo..

i do music myself and i understand wanting to share your music with people...in fact i let my friends know if i do something new...

a lot of you post on here when you have a new track & that's cool...

what's not cool is sending me spam trying to get me to join your group on yahoo..especially after i already told you in the past i didn't appreciate you getting my email address off my profile for this purpose...

not cool & if i'm not mistaken..it's against site rules...

the last time it happened you assured me that it was an accident, you had no knowledge of it, and it wouldn't happen again...so why is it?

i don't mind if people want to email me, orgnote me, contact me in any way and let me know they have something i might be interested in...

or you know..you could let me make up my own mind if i want to go to the trouble of finding your group on yahoo or not..but what i don't need is more spam in my email...especially considering the way you went about getting my email address...

please stop...

I don't know who did it, but I agree, it's a pretty crappy thing to do.

If you are talking about whom I happen to think you are, I've gotten spammed by them too. That suggests more than mere accident when these things keep "happening" to pop up in the inboxes of p. org members don't you think?

Who are you guys talking about? I noticed that Lewis posted an invitation in The Bumpsquad's Yahoo group yesterday.

Is it him or the New Funk Order group? I hope its not the NFO.

but yep..sounds like the same person...

and again..you know..if it was somebody that i talked to or sorta knew or something and they just emailed me or something..that would be something else altogether...but you know the stock 'invitation to join..blah, blah, etc...' thing..with no explaination...not cool...

by the way..no i haven't received spam from the NFO yahoo group..thanks for your concern vina..

Thank God!!! See guys, lets not use the invite feature for the NFO yahoo group. It doesn't go over well. We should definitely invite people personally, or just have a link on the main site for people to click on.

I don't like Yahoo groups much anyway, they aren't as nice as the MSN ones, imo. But it is good to have a group for those who Yahoo and don't have a hotmail account. I plan on making an MSN community for myself and if you guys like it, I'll make one for the NFO too.

Personally, I get sick and tired of all this email in my hotmail account, telling me how I can enlarge my penis.

that would be a gesture of friendship...a form letter...when you've already been asked before not to use my email address for that is spam...

Warning: Let this be a lesson. It only has to look like spam. I'm not sure how these yahoo groups work, but two of my personal e-mail accounts that have never been introduced to this site or any other, have lately been getting invitations for two different yahoo groups that belong to or were started by an individual here.

I agree with the above. Invitations should be personal.
