How is this for the NFO slogan? A while back, Otan suggested we try to come up with a good slogan for the NFO. Something that conveyed the following:
Funky Music Do it yourself/Indie Musicians, A collective/compliation of musicians from all over the place So I just thought of this: Think Globally, Funk Locally What do you guys think? Also, I was in the chat room last night, pimping the website. It was really easy. People would say "Hey Vina! How have you been, what have you been up to?" I must have said "I've been working on a track for this project, www.newfunkorder.com" like 5 times in an hour!

I think the slogan is cool, but I ain't the right person to tell. I like all the slogans that OTAN suggested. I like everything, it's just words anyway.

ANYTHING to get people's interest up enough to check out the link... and, after awhile, whatever it is that we choose will be great no matter what, like: "It's the Real Thing" was to Coke, or "You Deserve a Break Today" for McDonalds... these phrases, taken alone, mean nothing at all and in no way convey what the product is/does... so I think you've got a great slogan that says it all. But you have to be biased, I got positive responses about my song from people who like things like Red Hot and jannes's addiction, and not so good on alternative channels where people like radiohead and silverchair.
So think you got to look for big channels like #funk #soul, i don't know, i only know the channels in Brazil servers. I use undernet from USA sometimes and THERE's TONS OF PEOPLE of ALL over the world there. I was talking with people from FINLAND, GERMANY, it gets more personal than forums. But it's much more difficult to hold attention. But I think it works, if people really like. Mouth to mouth you know? You can always flood the screen when you're leaving.

Well I just figured that most of these ideas would work & it would be a shame to choose the wrong strategy, so lets try em all Lewis

Not bad...I'm having trouble with the 'local' though (let's pretend you gig internationally).
What about 'Think Universal / Funk Global'

What about 'Think Universal / Funk Global' Yeah theres not much local about us as we're all from different parts of the world. Yeah, but the point is, we are making an impact locally, each of us in different parts of the world, which will create a global effect. None of us gig globally either. And local also implies one to one contact. Like when you meet people on message boards or chat rooms and have a rapport. Then you say, hey check out this music. They might be in another state or another country, but with the internet, it's like they are next door. [This message was edited Fri May 16 13:49:30 PDT 2003 by VinaBlue]
