Hiya everybody,

Just finished this track. Its based on something I cooked up when I was about 12, a sort of re worked first ever song . Its called Scenic Route & I wonder if ya'll recognise the drummer?? Everything but the original drum loop & sampled phrases are composed arranged & performed by little ol' me.

The Newfunkorder is a collective of p.org musicians, we've all contributed something to a 2-disc set, organized and assembled by the nfo.

The music ranges from funk to rock, soul to funk. All musicians (so far) have been inspired by Prince on some level, as that is where the nfo originated, but in future releases, we won't be limiting the submissions solely to p.org members, nor to just prince-type music. (though this collection is far from Prince-ly).

To join, you have to stand, raise your left hand, and say "make my funk the P funk", spin three times, and moon walk over to the fake lamp on the left of the stage, and pull it over.

Another option is to compose a song, or submit one that you already have composed.

The goal is to release this collection, free, to the press, and then to anyone that wants a copy, for free. It's part of a music revolution, where we're willing to give our music away instead of demanding money for something that is truly a passion.

Until, of course, folks want to give us money for it. At that time, a price will be negotiated.

I would love 2 join!! Just give me 5yrs 2 learn how 2 play and compose and then I'll be able 2 record the 20 or so songs ive written over the years...

Hopefully, the nfo site will have a messageboard where we can post collaboration requests - lyrics looking for a song, guitar looking for a song, etc. This whole thing is only 3 weeks old, really.

But there is a Prince tribute disc elsewhere in the works, mentioned on this site as well. The plan with THAT is to burn just one copy and send it to Prince.

I couldn't get the realaudio track to work, so I only got to hear the short mp3 file... it sounded super busy, but it could easily be just the location from which you edited it. It sounded pretty cool, but I'm guessing it's towards the end. Can you get a different chunk of the song that has some kind of changes going on in it?

Just curious - I definitely want to hear how you built around the Stevie drums.
