www.newfunkorder.com

Let's not put up bounderies.

What was the funkiest, blew you off your chair, eyes all buggin out, site you ever saw for a musician/band/music thingy?

Is there something you would like to see?

This site will be built from the ground up by what you put into it as a group.

So far, what is "out there" is only what you have given and we'll keep it growing with that process.
This is the dawning of a new funk revolution

Ok, the first site that comes to mind is www.alanis.com. I like how it's set up, not so much the intro and the music playing in the background, but the photos and the background designs and colors.

Personally, I prefer the lo-tech web design, WITHOUT sound, WITHOUT flash, and WITHOUT wacky dhtml tricks and pop-up sub-windows.

The flash and the dhtml bells and whistles can make for some serious bugs and/or navigation problems on down the line, and making updates to a flash site is a GIGANTIC pain in the butt... (adding a new page/section for example)

My problem with having sound, (unsolicited sound) is that if someone comes to the site while in their day job, the sound (like Alanis' site) just SCREAMS "HEY! I'M NOT WORKING RIGHT NOW!" so the user will close the window immediately in a panic, and maybe remember to check it out when they get home, IF they have a computer at home.

So, having buttons to click to HEAR the music is great, having unsolicited sound is a huge obstacle in my opinion.

That said, I now notice that every musician/band site that I go to HAS sound playing when you hit the splash screen, uhh, including MINE. So, uhh, hmmm.

Here's some sites that I like - like the navigation, look, feel, etc.

I agree, that's why I said NOT the intro or the music in the background. The pictures and background designs and colors are what I was talking about. I like how she has personal photos, and poems and a diary. It makes it all more personal. These are things I will do with my site later on.

I don't think big flashy sites are necessary either. Sometimes, less is more.

Yes. How about our credits on the site? So far, they are only on the cd back cover. Can you put the credits either under our song titles or add them to the preview window?

That's in the works.

The site you see, is only what has been submitted by the group.

I have an idea that I think you will really like. If not, anything goes!

It would be way awesome, but i don't know how to do it myself, if you could stream the entire album from start to finish, realaudio I guess.

And hey, it would be even greater if you could have the option to play them at random, but well, that's just wishful thinking, I know.

I'm going to go download the entire thing right now to hear it from start to finish.

AND HEY - the background images on each preview is quite sweet!!

Will have to check. If not, we'll create a "funk network" right?
