Black History Month:

I had to go to this thing at the unemployment office. It was one of those things you had to do while receiving unemployment, where you sit in a class and they teach you how to look for a job. How to right a cover letter, resume and the such. How to talk when on an interview. Ya da ya da. I put on my best performance, after all I am a college graduate, I own my own business, I am good at what I do, I am Jew DreamFirstBorn and in my presence have been some pretty famous people, even Presidents.

I play along.

During this 4 hour mandated course, I get into a discussion with this lady after it is asked, "What are some of the limitation you feel are from keeping you from obtaining employment?" When it came to me, my time share, in honesty I answered, "Well for me I believe in my line of work, it is my age, my color, my name, my sexuality, these are the first things that come to mind." There was a moment of silence, no one knew how to respond to me, this dude. I sat there at first wanting to hide, there i go again. I have made everyone uncomfortable. This isn't about me, this moment. I am just here fulfilling my end of the agreement. Still I search the eyes of everyone before me. Sitting there naked, I demanded everyone to look at me.

This lady in her late 20's early 30's, blonde hair, pretty and white, she looks at me and says, "well if it's so hard for you as you say, maybe you should move and find work else where. Some place better suited for you." 2020 can you believe, when a man is kill while another is on his knees.

I don't know why it takes me so long to work out what I want and need but believe me when I tell you I'm overdue for a dance break.

The Original Timeline

Believe me when I tell you, my faith in love songs has been restored because I listened to this.

There are times when you meet someone and you have such an extrodinary moment together

that when you return home looking back at the experience you realize that

the person you met was an angel in disguise.

I had that experience this weekend. She was out by the bridge and over the next 36 hours

I enjoyed the most beautiful being I have come across in a while.

We talked for hours and hours and hours. When the sun came up we were both so tire,

I more than she and we found a super 8 near by. We got a room and spent more hours

talking about Prince, what he ment to us and what he ment to the world as we knew it. Just

two people having the kind of conversation with other that neither of us could have with

anyone else. It was refreshing.

The next morning we got in The Charles Neon Dynamite and found this cute little restaraunt

out in Shakopee and we had brunch. We sat there talking for a couple of hours about music,

and family, and romance. As we sat there talking I could the other patrons quitely listening

to our conversation, wondering who we were and how we found our way there.

Here we were these two individuals not from the area who had for not other reason to be there

than to just be seen and herd by each other. Uplifting ourselves just being one with each other

in the moment as it stood still, celebrating the gift of our lives.

We didn't complain about how the way things were, we didn't despise any of those who left us

with love scars and we didn't bring ill will in thought to those who looked over us, as at one time

or another we had fallen in heart for someone who deemed themselves in a higher position

than she and i.

At a certain point in our dining experience others had joined into our conversation and we were

no longer strangers but visitors who by chance understood what their hearts and day to day lives

were missing. A good old fashion love song.

It was a great time with her.

5 Days til Dawn

The city is somber and quiet as I stand here at this thought processer

conveying my thoughts.
