New Funk Order Leaders Wanted! I was tossing this idea around last night with a good friend of mine. Let's have a representative from each nation volunteer to burn CD's for people who do not have access to a computer. This would be on a demand basis only- if someone asks, burn them one. I figure that in each nation, it would be easier for that person to ship from thier own nation. It would not make sense for me to ship a CD to Canada if DJ Emale could do it himself for cheaper.
So, are there any volunteers? This is a non-profit project, so all expenses can be wrote off on taxes. (At least in the US they can, let me know if it differs in another nation and we can make other arrangements). Peace, JD

I'm seriously considering this. However, you did say we should cover our costs, right? I'd be willing to give this a try, if only for the practice of manufacturing cds on my computer.

I think Ive found a solution & they aint just CDRs, they do proper CDs. Ive always thought that if your gonna do a website, it should involve as little effort as possible to run it. That way you can just sit back & use the wonders of technology. Take my site for example. It used to take ages to update & I was worried about meeting the demand for CDRs. So I installed a system that would produce a behind the scenes administration section to my design making everything very easy to update. I also employed a third party company to manufacture & distribute my Cds. Theres also software on the site that automatically submits my site to the search engines every month & the guestbook & forums moderate themselves. Now the site more successful than its ever been & I dont have to do anything! But seriously, I had no idea I was gonna sell 3558 albums but on last check I have so it is possible for a small project to get that kind of attention on the net. I thank God I didnt try to burn all those CDs myself, my CD burner would be dead lol. Bear with me while I check this company out & I'll let ya know whether its worth it or whether we should use your method

Moderator | I buy mine in spools of a 100 that average out about 20 cents each.
I don't mind. It may be benificial to design a one page insert for the thinner CD cases that has all the info on it. I could whip up a few of those, no problem. Probably cost 50 cents to mail out. I like that idea. All Rights Reserved. |

I'd like to see what cities y'all from. From here, I can shoot out various promo ideas for individual peeps representing each city.

sorry...can't help myself here...I love the concept and would like to see it do well.
Critical Path - New Funk Order Think of it this way. You are promoting three things here: A) The concept (sweet music - freely and collectively around the globe) B) The web site, which is the vehicle with which to drive your product(s), both creatively and ultimately down the road - financially C) The result and productivity of it all - the Product One should never be promoted without the other. Pure Trinity. Infiltrate and cross...infiltrate and cross. Timing is also very key. You don’t want leaks to the press or anyone that counts until the project is completed, up and running. You don’t want peeps looking for it, not finding it and never giving it a second shot. First impressions are everything in this game. You are not ready nor do you want promotion right now, however...now is the time for each rep in each’s respective city to start compiling lists of contacts so that when the time comes - everybody is in sync...and the promo (press) hit gets done all within a week (tv, radio news networks, internet news & talk, tech and cyber mags/rags, University radio and rags, club dj’s...etc. Unveil the web site same as you would a record release. A date at least 2 weeks prior to the press release. 2 weeks to work out the bugs so it’s completely functional by the time the press creates the traffic.
