Waiting For Justice

Polar bears and elephants

Are waiting for justice.

The Planet is waiting for justice.

The helpless and innocent,

The hungry and poor,

The homeless-

Humanity is waiting for justice.

Indigenous peoples-

Native American Indians.

Spiritual and Proud,

Respecters of the Earth.

Deceived and displaced,

They are still waiting.

Black souls,

God's own people

Stripped of all dignity.

Stolen, enslaved and sold

On almost every continent.

Still waiting for justice.

The Jews,

A God fearing people

Of music and prayer,

And tradition.

Their ashes

Are still floating in the air,

And the air is still waiting for justice.

The exterminated,

The exiled and exploited-

The children

Of the children of the children

Are still waiting.

The wounded.

Soldiers on battlefields,

Soldiers coming home.

Children in closets, in cages,

Praying.

Praying and waiting for justice.

The young and the old,

The free and the oppressed,

Forever waiting.

Black and White

And every shade in between

Are still waiting for justice.

We are ALL Waiting for Justice.

That's deep. Nicely composed and ultimately true. It's such a shame that we have not learned a lot from history and things that should have been dealt with by the 21st century carry on. It's a sad indictment of the human race that we would rather step on each other than give each other a hand. Thankfully, not all people are like this. We need to hear more about individuals who make a positive difference instead of negative stereotypes portrayed in the media. Your piece was thought provoking and powerful, nice work 😎✌🎹
