Yeah I did! Several hours of such! But it was just me 'siging' with a basic PC mic using voice recorder... they were bad... I do not even think I have any of them!

I have written and recorded music and shared it in this forum with hardly any responses, which is a shame. I write, record and perform all of my stuff across a range of genres, although as a mild technophobe I don't have/use a DAW (music composed with digital editing software such as ProTools/Reaper, etc...) and prefer to record live instruments on my multitrack Tascam DP 24Sd multitracker. I'm remixing a lot of stuff that i recorded in mono rather than stereo as the sound quality wasn't very polished. It would be nice to get some feedback. You can find some of my stuff on Soundcloud:

Pretty cool stuff! Are you playing all of the instruments and singing on these tunes?

Something is not working in the low end of the mixes but based on what you said here, it's work in progress. The music is all pretty strong and diverse which is always nice for an audience.

I try to check out music here as much as possible but I must have missed yours, nice work!

thumbs up!

[edit] Sometimes people do not want constructive feedback and in that case, I usually just don't say anything. This used to be a forum where artists worked together and gave feedback to make everyone's music better.

I realy appreciate that luv4u. As mentioned, the sound isn't perfect with lots of high-grade plug-ins and digital editing and boosting but I do what I can with the relatively inexpensive equipment I've got!

Thanks S2DG! For some reason, the 'reply with a quote' function isn't working but you said:

Pretty cool stuff! Are you playing all of the instruments and singing on these tunes?

-Yes, it's me on all the instruments and vocals.

Something is not working in the low end of the mixes but based on what you said here, it's work in progress. The music is all pretty strong and diverse which is always nice for an audience.

-Getting the mix right is difficult as I mistakenly recorded most of the instruments/vocals at different volumes straight to the multitracker, which is difficult to modify afterwards, so you're right - there are inconsistencies but these are my first recordings so it's a learning curve (I have no musical or technical training).

I try to check out music here as much as possible but I must have missed yours, nice work!

thumbs up!

Thanks very much for your comments and feedback!

It would be great to get back to that (your last sentence)!

Musicanship is really strong, what instrument would you say you're most proficient on?

In regards to the mix, I completely understand. EVERYTHING is a learning curve but having the drive to do it is all you need. Learning recording process will come with experience and tools/gear.

In regards to my last statement, this place is what we make it and always has been. I'm personally not making musc right now but I check in here pretty conistently and will always give my twocents if asked.

I'll be watching for your music posts from now on. Can't wait to hear the sonic improvements when you re-record some of these kick ass songs! thumbs up!

I hope to share them someday but don’t think it’s a good idea yet, cause I’ve submitted them to some producers and want to wait and seee what happens with that, cause I learned the other day they are aware of my submission

Don't really have patience for that long build up but that's just me. Once you found your groove in turned into a cool jam idea that has some legs.

Thanks for sharing it. music

Musicanship is really strong, what instrument would you say you're most proficient on?
-I'm not sure which one I'm best at but I probably enjoy playing the guitar (electric and acoustic) most, closely followed by piano/keyboards, then bass, drums, and saxophone. I tend to hear a song in my mind and play what's needed to achieve that sound or composition in my head rather than say I'm going to write a guitar or piano-based song. Generally, though, it's usually the rhythm and bass that comes to me first - even for piano-based songs.
In regards to the mix, I completely understand. EVERYTHING is a learning curve but having the drive to do it is all you need. Learning recording process will come with experience and tools/gear.

-Having the time to dedicate to music when you're working from home is also tricky! Most of my stuff is done between 12 - 6 am. That's why on the song On The Outside Looking In there's a lyric that says 'My eyes are feeling heavy, been up all night long' - it's true for me.

In regards to my last statement, this place is what we make it and always has been. I'm personally not making musc right now but I check in here pretty conistently and will always give my twocents if asked.

- As mentioned, I'm trying to remix them in stereo to the best of my ability with the limited equipment and knowledge (of the recording/mixing/mastering process) I have while dealing with a parent who has Covid and a son who is vulnerable.

I do

Prince was always an inspiration for me
I sometimes wonder if his influence can be heard.

I've been compared to a lot of folks, never to my favourite though.
I tend to hear it for myself.

Hey, yes I write all the time.

I hope you dont mind - but I released this song today and Sooo proud of it - the vocal sound is just like Prince's falsetto but its sung by a female.

The link below is to spotify, but you can still hear a preview even if you dont have spotify.

Let me know what you think? If you guys like it Ill make more like this..

Thanks!
