the band "barbarasteele"

I'm still looking for a female drummer...but in the meantime check us out

http://artists.mp3s.com/a...teele.html

I'd like some feedback, not sure where to play, or who will even want to hear us play.

Wow. You definitely captured the Velvet Underground lo-fi lo-tech lo-skills feel. Where'd the name come from?

I really dig your stuff. It is very cutting edge and abstract, and I dig that. I would love for you to contribute "Sugar Coat" to the NewFunkOrder Project 2 (aka: NewerFunkOrder).

Peace,
JD

I like the Damsel song...it has a cool vibe.
& I read your other post-I don't think it sounds "Princey"-so you're right.

I really like Sugar Coat. Good arrangement. Your music is dark and moody and I'm into that.

Full on David Bowie mid 70's feel to it... interesting in that yeah, my first reaction was "okay, just learned to play and is doing great things with the limited knowledge", no offense, but I know it came out surly.

On a second listen, it's much more advanced that that, but at the same time, the lo-fi thing really keeps it on a basic level, even with the strings and whatever else is going on to make it complex... this stuff is way beyond me - some of it I get, and dig, and some of it, I just scratch my head. Which is in no way to say it is BAD. Because it's not... it's just out there (well, out of HERE -- pointing to head).

Cool stuff and wierd as hell at the same time.

Hope that pulled the barbs out of my comments, without adding new ones.

I've been playing for a long time, but i think now i'm into something less wankery, & showy-more raw. I love Bowie, so maybe that comes out..."wierd" huh?? Well, I hope so. Sounds pretensious-but i want to make art, not just music.

Thanks for your feedback, I respect your opinion-it's educated.
