Prince — Official Podcast. The Story of Sign O The Times Similar to that documentary/podcast they did with 1999 SDE, except SOTT edition and its a longer episode! Wow the snippets they’re playing is glorious! The beginning of Power Fantastic making me cry hearing the beginnings of this legendary track... Oh and they played a bit of In a Large Room and OMG I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR THE FULL THING IN THAT QUALITY Fun hearing Wendy & Lisa and Susan Rogers talking about behind the curtain... mm Ugh only one more month, folks! Less than a month!!

I know these songs by heart but hearing these snippets on this episode with this clarity and lots of details gives me chills! can't wait to hear it in full.
And hear the band members tell the story of the recording of Power Fantastic give me chills too! It's not the same vocal take than on the final release. [Edited 8/27/20 1:57am] "You can skate around the issue if you like,

Fullu agree. I'm glad that we're all expecting the same...as a kinda family... I do "Count The Days" as well. "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

Interesting how the Weny & Lisa mix of Strange Relationship was included. I guess that's the "orginal version" we'll be getting, but longer than the leaked version? Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Did U notice that "Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A" is longer/different than the version that we all know? So happy 2 get those snippets & in a few hours "Forever In My Life (early vocal studio run-through)". "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

Those snippets were hype inducing.

This is fucking great!! The different take of Power Fantastic, and the visual set up provided by the people who were there is just fantastic. All My Dreams sounds even more magical, and the copy most of us have already sounds pretty damn great. Wonderful Day sounds a little less Wendy & Lisa heavy, in terms of the vocals. In A Large Room With No Light sounds good as well, but not too different. Neveah Ni Ecalp A sounds really cool too! God I can't wait for this even more now. "That's when stars collide. It confirms that what we knew as 'interlude' is 'Colors'. That just leaves the alt version of ICNTTPOYM as the only mssing track accross the periods unreleased albums. .

Oooooh, hearing his instructions at the start of Power Fantastic was an absolute delight. I was fairly keen to hear this album, come September, now excitement levels are beginning to tip off the scale. Magnificent. And heart-breaking.

And of course this gets redirected to the "Art, Podcasts, & Fan Content" graveyard. . This is the OFFICIAL GODDAMN PODCAST. Dumped in an abandoned forum that was created for amateur BS. © Bart Van Hemelen

i'm with bart. dumb beyond belief that this can't stay in the prince section. suppressing good conversation and discussion by relagating a quality product to this WASTELAND that no one vists. [Edited 8/27/20 15:41pm]

It dies in here while mods continue to delete the multiple repeat threads popping up in 'Prince music and more' where EVERYONE is expecting an official release to be discussed. .

But anyways... i was gonna go on about how i thought the alt version of ‘Strange Relationship’ only had those overly punchy snares and kick on the bootleg since it wasn’t mixed properly or whatever... and also overall quality... but no, it’s there in the actual tracks. Not as punchy as the boot but still packs a punch. Guess it was intended that way

Whats the song being played in the background at 4:21? .

It’s so insane and infuriating. These podcasts are surely the best documentaries on Prince ever released - it’s nuts the discussions are buried in here.

If I didn't know better, listening to episodes 1-6 would make me think that Prince only worked with white women who are responsible for most of the genius work in this era. Wendy and Lisa have been taking huge chunks of credit since the end of the Revolution and we are all used to that. They all speak as of they were defining him or knew him better than anyone - Susannah, Wendy, Lisa. Susan Rogers sounds like a complete wingnut. They all make it more complex than it was and themselves more relevant than they were. They whine about being let go when it was time for Prince to move on to things they could not do.
For instance, contrast how they talked about the end of the band and how Mark Brown (the member who get references the least when the topic is the Revolution for some reason ...but I know why this has been how he is treated by the media since the 80s).
