I like the work that you put into making this. Besides writing the song you had to create the video and everything else.

With that said, I'm going to be honest because you asked and critiques are important in order to get better.

  • I couldn't listen to the whole thing because you're singing is out of key and it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. Vocals are difficult but consistently practicing will make you better.

  • Have a change in the song at some point. When it's just the same thing over and over for 3 minutes the audience tunes out.


Everybody is a work-in-progress but the key word is "WORK". Look forward to seeing where you will take it.

Hi S2DG,
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post, I really appreciate it and you get the medal for being the first 👏. I always prefer honesty about my creations and you're right, I have the perfect voice for instrumental tracks😂😁😂😁.
I recorded this with my Spanish guitar as the only instrument and I enjoyed keeping it limited and simple. I don't have any other plans for this piece but I've written more material that I plan to record the same way (just guitar). I have consciously tried to put more changes into the new songs to keep them interesting and fresh so I look forward to sharing them, although it will probably be next year before I do!
Haha, I'm pleased that I edited this one a bit because the original version may have sent you over the edge😂😁😂.
Anyway, thanks for your honesty and commentary I look forward to sharing the next song with you soon, cheers😎💗🎸

Keep up that positive perspective, it's really more important than anything else, musically speaking or otherwise.

The lack of response is because people don't want to criticize so saying nothing is safer.

This forum used to be a place for artists and musicians to post their work for constructive feedback from other perspectives in order to make it better and help the artist/musician grow. This is the opposite of "this sucks" posts without any advice to make it better. As I mentioned, everyone is a work-in-progress and feedback that comes from this place has been helpful for people.

I think it would be great to see this forum come back as a place for creative people (inspired by Prince or not) to share what they create and be as open as you are to constructive feedback.

It's easy to rush to judgement but it's harder to create something and put it out into the world, in the words of Prince, "Let's Work!"

Looking forward to what's next from you Mackopolis44!
