Making the transition I'm a guitar player and I'm about to buy myself a bass guitar.
In theory I should find it pretty easy, as the scales are the same but obviously there are 2 less strings. Any of you more accomplished musicians find the transition from your first instrument to your second/third easy or hard? I'd like to hear your comments ![]() Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

Lose the pick. Learn to play with your fingers. Not loud enough? Turn up the volume, and control the volume with your fingers - you'll get much more power in your playing. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

I'd like to hear your comments ![]() Bass involves more 'string control' really. It seems at first like the strings have a mind of their own but you'll get there. I also agree with Otan, play without the pick & use fingers & or thumbs
