Incredible insights into Prince from Scottie Baldwin podcast

Again, apologies if this has been posted [in a rush today!] BUT just in case...

This is an important 1, 2 hours long BUT simply mind blowing. Didn't realise he worked with P for so long, the stories from the final days of the P&M Australian leg of the tour are incredible. A great listen to those who like to get technical...gave me a whole new perspective on how P [or any artist actually] has to adjust their rigs massively for each venue.

A massive point to take on board is how much Prince read fans comments & actually listened [sometimes!] ...he really was invisibly connected to the community.

are you aware Scottie's been on Michael Dean's Podcast Juice show a couple of times. Those were very in depth and actually covered similar ground. Scottie's interviews are superb....

In both this interview and the one with Michael Dean he mentions something about some 'issues' in Australlia which apparently is why he left the tour. He never explains further though..just hints.

Must check that out. Think the issue was over $...he wanted to double his earnings per gig & P rightly said no...as per the Peach & Black podcast.

Must check that out. Think the issue was over $...he wanted to double his earnings per gig & P rightly said no...as per the Peach & Black podcast.

He also mentioned that Kirk and Prince flew via private jet to Perth...

(way over the other side of Australia),

whilst HE would have had to fly domestic airlines and

H said e simply did not think that he would get there in time to set things up...

I think this pissed him off...the stress of having to fly domestic airlines knowing that he had to get everything perfect in a tight time frame..

he goes on to say he left his computor behind so as to not leave the Show compramised beyond repair..

and left...

So..it was money yes

and also after working for Prince for so long you would think that he would be able to accompany him and Kirk

Thats how I understood it....

I love hearing Scottie talk...

He mentioned that he could do a whole podcast on Princes Vocals..

That in all the time he never heard Prince sing a sharp note or be off key...

We hear a lot about Princes chops on guitar and piano, but not a lot about his vocals..

I hope someone tackles that ....

Id love to know how the hec he managed all those shreiks and screams for so many years

and still have a near perfect upper register....
