Great review as always, dudes! Also, sorry for your loss.

Can not agree more with Captain and Playa on Piano & a Microphone 1983.
If they would have released HitnRun Phase Three or Black Is the New Black, or any unreleased actual album, then they would have better established the quality material that’s actually in the vault and not turn people off.

But yeah, I wish they’d focus on any time period in Prince’s career besides 1982-84. They think it’s a good idea to milk his biggest mainstream era before they actually put effort into anything. It’s really not. Hopefully they can get their crap together and properly start releasing the music at a fairly fast rate....

But until then, we can all look forward to Piano & a Microphone 1984, HitNRun Phase 1984 and Purple Rain: LIVE!...It Ain’t Over!

Nice one chaps, very enjoyable. I agree with your final thoughts regards the releases that the Estate have offered up and that they good have been a lot better. I personally would like to see some of his live concert recordings released on DVD or download more than his audio output - that's where he created a lot of his magic - on stage. And if, as they say, he recorded all his live performances - there'll be loads of great stuff ready to be seen and for us to get our purple mitts on, yet we've seen nothing apart from the reproduction of Syracuse on the Purple Rain Expanded. Like Captain said, at this rate I'll be dead before the tip of the mountain can be seen.

.

I also thought that your eulogy for your friend Josh came across real nice and poignant - sounds like a top man. I'm gonna stick the drum machine on at 118bpm, grab my axe and play "Endorphinmachine" at volume 11 out of respect.

.

Looking forward to new Peach & Black - happy to hear you're marching on.

.

Cheers!

The Scandlous guitar solo is the same (sampled) as Dear Michaelangelo, but it's slowed down.
