They really are. When asked in 2015 on Twitter his favorite Bible verse Prince replied Psalm 31:21. At the 2006 BET Awards at the start of the song he said "Read Psalms. That's where it is." I recall there also being talk about the numbers on the back of his tunic and it being a possible tetragrammaton for the name Jehovah. It's very fascinating.
