You guys are just brilliant. And you should have your own sticky on the main page. But no doubt you will soon be moved to somewhere nobody goes. Thankyou for stll going, and giving honest opinions. And not sucking up to the estate. Not like some do to keep getting them free tickets to events etc. If it was up to me, you would be in charge of the vault!

It's rather arrogant to assume someone isn't listening because they disagree or have a different opinion. ITKCMYC is a throwaway track based solely on the movie dialog. It's not garbage, but it's a throwaway like "Wedding Feast", "Shy", or "Jughead". To assume that the guys who make up this podcast, a well-respected Prince-centric podcast haven't listened to that song a thousand times between them all from 1984 until 2018 is simply short-sighted.

Let me clarify something since posting earlier. The song is a throwaway because of the lyric content. It's silly. The music is good. I could have been a sultry ballad, but the restaurant noises, the dialog - it's ridiculous. Granted, I get you're a newbie fan (we all were at some point), and I appreciate your passion for ol' boy's music. It's layers of stuff you learn about him over time. But being that you're new-ish to the world of Prince, just know the P&B podcast is a solid outfit. You will certainly not agree with them, or other fans, about what songs are the best, what isn't, etc. Hell, I love "The Arms of Orion". It's my warmup song on the piano. People here hate it. But - I just sing it above all the haters. hehehe

Shy was often played on Couleur 3, which was then one of the hippest European radio station, in 1996.

Couleur 3 was specialized in the newest electronic music but would also play other stuff granted that it was deemed hip, cool or innovative at the time. It's funny that you should mention Couleur 3. I discovered Prince thanks to them, in 1989!

From memory Captain didn't say IIWYG wasn't a good song, he said he didn't like it / didn't get it. I could be remembering incorrectly but that was the gist of what was saying..

Also don't forget this is a podcast of 4 people's opinions, just because you disagree with one of the opinions, doesn't mean anyone is wrong. You can only be subjective to a point before personal feelings about a certain song come into play..

Logic would dictate they'd play him a lot in the 80's if they were already as focused on playing hip and innovative stuff as they were later. Don't u miss it sometimes? This radio was such a gem

For the record, I often disagree with some opinions on the show and I often agree. That happens with opinions, especially in regards to Prince. I don't listen to agree, I listen for passionate discussion about Prince. So... Love the show, thanks and keep 'em coming!!
