This review was such a disappointing experience. If The Kid Can't Make You Come is my favourite song/instrumental by "Prince" ever. And you slam it. And one question not just to you guys but the whole . Org, can Prince play the same style on guitar as allegedly Jesse does on this track? Those bluesy guitar links throughout the entire song. Because that is music porn in my ears. However, Playa said during The Bird that he just waits for the buildup to the climax of the last minute. Well, the same can be said about this track for me. That thumping bass part combined with that blistering piano/synth slam at the end is a "Holy shit" moment for me! And I never count the edited version as a version at all. The uncut version on Blast From The Past 6.0 is the only and definitive version that exists. Horrible review of If The Kid Can't Make You Come. You really need to listen to all the details and turns in that song several times

You guys are just brilliant. And you should have your own sticky on the main page. But no doubt you will soon be moved to somewhere nobody goes. Thankyou for stll going, and giving honest opinions. And not sucking up to the estate. Not like some do to keep getting them free tickets to events etc. If it was up to me, you would be in charge of the vault!

wedding Feast and Jughead are garbage. To even compare this musical bliss to those two is a crying shame. I still praise the genius of the arrangement. The Piano sounds great, the guitar is fire and that last bass part is one of his funkiest lines ever. And I'm talking about BFTP 6.0. And for the record, I've been listening to this track almost everyday the last 7 month. Compared to you TrivialPersuit I'm a newbie of a fan, but that's just to harsh going on about how wrong I am. I believe this is his best instrumental. There's just to many layers to be a throw away song.

Sir, I respect your opinion. Hell, you're TrivialPersuit after all. I've seen your nickname frequently since I started posting here since 2011. So yes, I might be new-ish compared to you, but do not underestimate how deep into the rabbit hole I've been. I would go so far as saying my past seven years been dedicated to Prince music and his alone (including side projects). And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I know who Rob Esse, Playa, Toejam and Captain are. And let me just say this. Don't give me heat when I claim this track is the best or second best piece of MUSIC together with The Bird. Remember, Captain disregarded If I Was Your Girlfriend as a good song on the album. That is just inexcusable. And you didn't answer my question. Could Prince play the same style of lead line, those bluesy stabs on guitar as well as allegedly Jesse did on this track? Or is it Prince playing some parts?

Shy was often played on Couleur 3, which was then one of the hippest European radio station, in 1996. Couleur 3 was specialized in the newest electronic music but would also play other stuff granted that it was deemed hip, cool or innovative at the time. They tried to avoid playing anything Top 40 with the occasional exception (those few acts that were popular but incredibly cool). And they would usually mostly play contemporary material (they tried to avoid anything older than a year old or so). Shy is probably the only Prince track I ever heard there in the 5 years span I listened to that station between 96 and 2000 (unfortunately in 2000 there was a change in management and C3 became a mainstream channel and started to play popular mainstream shit, so I quit). Shy being played on Couleur 3 is the best testament to its greatness. But of course, while some of us were hipsters listening to Couleur 3 and similar radio stations, some others were listening to Bob Dylan, Bruce Springteen, McCartney and other grandpa stuff A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

It's funny that you should mention Couleur 3. I discovered Prince thanks to them, in 1989!

Maybe you better listen a bit more carefully to what they are actually saying. From memory Captain didn't say IIWYG wasn't a good song, he said he didn't like it / didn't get it. I could be remembering incorrectly but that was the gist of what was saying..
Also don't forget this is a podcast of 4 people's opinions, just because you disagree with one of the opinions, doesn't mean anyone is wrong. You can only be subjective to a point before personal feelings about a certain song come into play.. [Edited 11/6/18 0:05am] Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

He probably thought it was 'just a song' and is waiting for KC's Remix. . Just listened to first half an hour on my morning commute, great work as usual fellas

Logic would dictate they'd play him a lot in the 80's if they were already as focused on playing hip and innovative stuff as they were later. Don't u miss it sometimes? This radio was such a gem A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/
