For some of us...

There needs to be a reason

To go on past survival

For some of us

There has to be a faith,

A dream to work toward

Look forward to...

A meaning to existence

The narrative we measure

Ourselves and each other by

Changes from year to year

Decade to decade

The landscapes that we live in

Change just like our faces do

As we age...

Everything you thought you knew

Lived by and depended on...

It all morphs into something else

Some more immediately

And drastically than others...

But Change is the only constant

In Life (besides Death)

And one must grasp that dilemma

by the horns

Learn to understand it

As much as possible

And move on in the

River of Life

To navigate that uncertain stream

With every oar in grasp...
