Woah guys! Most of you seemed pretty riled with this album. I would look at things differently. This album does something very different to previous Prince releases. This should not be compared to a collection of polished studio songs. Instead, this album can be seen more as a fly on the wall documentary, a snapshot of where Prince was at this time. This lets us explore numerous elements such as his creative process, his piano and vocal skills, and what was on his mind on that day, emotionally and creatively. The listener gets the excitement of peeking behind the curtain for a rawer Prince than ever before captured on record in a stream of consciousness format, which is why judging songs independently from each other doesn’t work here.

I enjoy your podcast & agree with what Captain & Playa said on this one. "So much has been written about me, & people don't know what's right & what's wrong. I'd rather let them stay confused." ~ Prince.
