New podcast series on the Salford Purple Reign conference Hi all:
Just wanted to let anyone who might be interested know that my podcast is starting a new series of interviews with scholars who presented at the University of Salford Purple Reign Conference. The first episode feature Jane Clare Jones, who some of you might remember from the beautiful piece she wrote shortly after Prince's death (http://www.popmatters.com/feature/water-baby-a-eulogy-for-our-departed-prince/), and who much fewer of you might remember from the first four episodes of the podcast. If anyone out there is as disappointed as I am that they missed the conference, hopefully these will be a decent consolation prize.
I plan on posting a new episode every two weeks or so, until I run out of people to talk to. The first one can be found here:

Hi Zach! I was at the conference on behalf of the org.
I'm good friends with Sam Coley, Simon Barber, Chambers Stevens, De Angela Duff and many others who gave talks there. Let me know if you need help getting in touch with anyone.
We have a dedicated podcasts/content forum now, so I am moving this thread there too.

New episode with Zack Stiegler from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. We talk about Prince's relationship with the Internet, Afrofuturism, and the super-obscure 1998 cassette-only release "The War": https://princesongs.org/2...onference/ |
