Well, I USED to have a gay drummer. nutty

AHH just kiddn. Yes, I use Fruity Loops... it's just easier than hooking everything up - cuz it's all contained inside the computer, noises, samples, etc... but I've only used it ONCE to create an actual song.

Paisley, the interface is confusing at first, but once you mess around with it, it's really easy and good. I used the demo most of the time. I finally got the real thing, but, if you've got the demo, and the demo version of ACID, you're set.

The only thing the demo CANT do is save your projects. it CAN export WAV files for looping in other software, like ACID or Cakewalk.

Neva heard of the MTV Music Generator. The name alone sounds scary - like, you push a button and *poof* you're writing CREED songs, push another button and *poof* you're kicking out Justin Timberlake, *poof*, Missy Elliot, *poof* Ludacris...

But I speak from my ass on this one.

I gotta check it out. Acid is SOO easy. You take the loops and "paint" them into the song where you want to hear them... erase the part you want to take out.

I think you're right about the MTV music generator. I've heard of stuff like that. It almost makes it like a video game, add this, choose that. ACID is borderline like that, IMO. I mean, what happens if you want to take ot the damn whistle in a loop? Or its tooo distorted? I can never find exactly what I want in any ACID loops. Their idea of Trip-pop is beyond me.

disbelief

Maybe I should see if I can download more loops from their website like you said, Otan. I have Opium, Cyclotronic Resonator, Arp, On the Jazz Tip and Funky Extremes. A friend of mine has almost every wave/loop cd rom you can imagine and he let me copy them.

Fruity Loops is AMAZING. The voice feature alone was worth the money (anything you type it says, sings, whispers).

I'll use it as a click track sometimes when playing drums and I've also used it as a ghost track when I'm writing music.

I picked up Fruity Loops for the first time about 6 months ago and a month after, picked up the upgrade.

It reminds me of the NPGMC voice overs with their Audio shows.

OH - yeah. I cranked it up immediately after posting that message, and started messing with it. I was hoping you could set the notes, i.e. create a digitized vocal line, but it ain't THAT great...

But yeah, it's cool for creating vocal lines like Art Of Noise's "Beat Box"...

thanks!

SWANG

I'm a little wierd.

I LOVE the Acid sequencer, but I hate their loops. So I use the Acid program to sequence all my own drum programming. Import the samples, use the 'one-shot' function and go to town! All my drums and sampled sounds are done that way, then I export the files out and dump them into Sonar. Sonar is great for recording audio. Let's just say, people who love Acid will love Sonar.
