Guitar Pick ups Does anybody has something to say about SH6 or any other Seymour Duncan passive pick up? I am thinking about buying them or EMG, I saw some people putting down active pick ups. What the real sound difference between a good active and a good passive pick up?

I've had EMG single coils in my guitar for years, loved the sound, very fat, etc... a BIG plus, over the years, was that you don't shock your mouth when you touch your mouth to the microphone.
Then, two years ago, I played a real strat, real fender pickups, and started using THAT guitar only. My other guitar is just growing old now. Active pickups don't affect your tone in a very noticable way - especially if you run thru lots of effects. The thing to active pickups, I always thought, was that they process the signal so it's much cleaner, no hum, etc. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
