WWJD: What Would Jason Do?

So, some of you are saying, (to paraphrase) if JASON asked you to post your links on HIS site, you'd do it, but because it's somebody OTHER THAN the original person with the idea, you're willing to dissent?

What kind of fucked up fellowship is that? Who cares where the site resides? Who cares WHO is designing A site, if any site?

Are you telling me you don't have the extra ten minutes it takes to go post a link to YOUR music somewhere else?

How MF-ING STUPID CAN YOU BE? I can't believe that I blink, and the damn project is falling apart because you people don't want to do a LITTLE F-ING WORK?

Dre - it's a great song, you're on the org, what the hell do you care where the song goes, ESPECIALLY if the damn thing was online for free to begin with?

Bigthing - what the hell does this mean? "Cloud, i'm not here to piss anyone off, i just don't like being forced to post on someones site. I joined the project for FUN and when there is none to be found i'd much rather leave it alone."

No fun? To post your frickin song AGAIN somewhere else? What the HELL kind of ambition do you LACK? If somebody asked me to post my link to my song on crap-eaters-anonymous.com, believe you me, I WOULD.

I can't believe this simple, easy, loose concept has turned into a frickin DIVA SHOW.

PULL MY SONG OUT TOO! SCREW IT!

Just kidding. I don't care if I'm the only one on the damn CD, LEAVE ME IN!

The project does not depend on my contribution now does it? , Now, the reason why i pulled my song is that i don't like people saying to me : Hey, if YOU don't post on MY site , Then YOU are out! , Cause this is what someone told me. Furthermore, i refuse to be a contentprovider for something other than the NFO.

Anyway, diva call people all you want in here, i still wish you and the project good luck!

Thanks 4 the compliment but let's clear something up shall we? :I: never had a problem as 2 where it went because it is supposed 2 end up in the same place in the name of the NFO.

This was never the problem. So let us all waddle away from the fountain of misin4mation and go str8t 2 the horses mouth.

:I: never did like Chinese Whispers

Ever since the project was first discussed, (Jan 24th)

http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=33895

Cloud offered to host it on his website. If a person didn't read everything and get all the info before agreeing to participate, well I guess they have a right to change their minds.

I agree that it seemed Cloud was being a bit demanding on his thread about posting on his forum. I myself wasn't sure why we had to do that and why he couldn't just download the tracks himself. But anyway, he cleared that up.

Otan is right, why not post your link somewhere when it's already available for free on the internet in general? I was pretty upset about Cloud's thread, but I didn't say anything because my track isn't even done yet. Most everyone else had a track already done, and already up on the internet somewhere, so what's the big deal? Especially now that we know why it has to be posted on his site?

Then again, there isn't anything stoping Cloud from posting the links on his site himself, now is there? He could do it. Maybe he's asking us to post the link to it shows we posted and we are contributing a song.

Sheesh, I don't know what to say. If you don't want to participate, that's cool. But at least get the story before making a big stink. I mean, I totally understand, I was getting pretty pissed at Cloud's thread about posting on his site. But now that I know why, it's cool.

It is the NFO!!! Did you think we were going to buy the domain name? From the beginning we all knew it was going to be part of Cloud's site, for free because he has the resourses to put it together for us, and will do it for free.

Listen Vina, I respect your views and everyone else's on the matter, i do not wish to cause any problems for the ongoing of the project.

Maybe I was wrong in thinking that all we were to do is collect some of our music for all to burn on CD's , so far i was cool with that. As far as the whole webproject goes, i just felt that it was not the direction i choose to follow.

As far as promotion of my music i will not let someone else decide how it's going to be done. Period.

Don't let my dropping out pause or delay any work you have planned! that is not what this is all about.

Peace

It's cool man. I just wanted to clear things up. I don't like when things are ugly for no reason. And I know that when we write stuff (and read it) it doesn't always translate well.

I totally understand your view and didn't mean to sound bitchy. I'm very sorry. Just getting frustrated here. Peace to you too.

I think you still have the wrong end of the stick dude. Its not gonna be a webproject as you think, we're just using the web as a distribution system for the finished CD. smile

But I dont think anyone ever mentioned just burning a few CDs. Its gonna be a big project

Easy, y'all. It's music. Be cool. I'm only away right now because the workplace put a company wide hammer down on all internet use. Lewis (Cloud 9) offered to host this thing on his webspace because none of us (at least not me) have enough space to do this. The mp3.com thing was an idea that I had so that we could all upload everything there.

I have limited use of my father-in-law's computer (the one I am typing from now). I suggest if you all want more options that you create multiple "newfunkorder" types of mp3.com sites (because they only allow 3 songs per site now). Then, when everyone has their songs uploaded and approved, we can create a "newfunkorder" mp3.com radio station and it can feature all of the songs, because there is no limit on songs on a radio station. This at least creates more options for those who feel restricted to uploading to one place. In the meantime, feel free to upload your songs and/or links to the Cloud 9 Mission's forum. He has good site production and he gets maad hits on his site daily. It really is a good avenue of promotion. However, I must advise you all that this is a project of message and FUN. Stay loose, and keep funkin', and we will wrap up Project 1 and begin in Project 2.

Peace,
JD
