I propose a new music genre- New Funk! Prince had mentioned this about his style of music back in the 80's, but there are many artists who do not have a specific genre (like myself) who would fall under this category. Who is with the movement? The New Funk Order is part of the quest to make it a legitimate genre.

it's a little dated and the programming needs some work but i feel what your trying to do. About the "dated" thing- I do that on purpose! I cannot tolerate most modern music from the period of 1997-current. There are occasional songs that stick with roots funk, dance, disco, and r&b, but they are few and far between. As far as the sounds being dated, I know that. I only have only bought a little over 1500 dollars of my own equipment in the last 7 years, and I record everything on that, so my resources are slim- I do the best with what I have. I guess that explains the programming for you as well. I would love to jam with someone with more equipment and maybe record some songs with better stuff! Peace, JD

When does a style of music move from "dated" to "classic"?
I always thought dated was such a rediculous term.

I always thought dated was such a rediculous term. Yes, exactly. I think what is important, is what a song represents, what feeling it holds, with what intention it is being created. As much as I'm sure most people want other people to like their music, the most important thing, is that the artist is happy with their own expression. After all, we are all creative in our own unique way - hooray !
