Enough of the bs!

This section is made for Artists, who else is going to bring it back to life? C'mon!

I'll post something this weekend.

Manki just released a single from Sweden.

Dre, where's that new stuff at?

Ah, I guess I never posted it here in the end... here ya go, it's the last thing I did at the end of 2013...
Been on hiatus ever since, especially with the Purple one himself being here in London the last 3 weeks! Enjoy!

This was my other problem with the music that got posted here. It was mostly all Prince/MPLS related, like everybody got hold of the same Linn drum sample sounds pages and tried to make themselves into the next Prince clone. Neon Romeoz and Sah.Ril and the Digitial Detox album are the only things I ever bought.

Honey, ain't nobody here anymore... I remember when a lot of peeps used to post their music, art, poetry, etc. I just did it because I miss it. Good vibes to ya.

If I had to hazard a guess, this was because people didn't engage the artists that posted things here. I had maybe a few of my poems/songs get some views and comments, but for the most part, there was some "collective" here that considered themselves the gatekeepers, and if you weren't in with them, you didn't catch on. I deleted my account because of it. It's my first time back in several years.

You're kind of right. There was a time though where a dozen or more members critiqued, gave positive, and negative criticism, to each other and it was very bonding experience.

these are spontaneous happenings, this Forum wasn't meant to be, and like all good things they come to an end.

However, Man this was a sweet place for a year or more, just like I bet there are places like it all over the Web. cool

~PClinuxOS~ yes I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ... thumbs up!

Beau posted on here when I asked about him. Guess he's lost some hearing and isn't really doing the funk much anymore. Quite sad as I loved his stuff and his Southern fried funk.

Frank still posts here regualrly and is still an amazing guitarist.

It was just accidentally on purpose that anything much happened here.

>

Slave2daGroove you may not even remember me, I fully agree with what you said about Beau Hall, and Frank Axtell.

Both World class Guitarists !

Reading an old thread by looking up Beau on my friendlist, the link I've posted earlier, he was talking of having spinal fusion surgery. eek

.

.

I've no idea what happened to Beau as I was obviously not around, but I note I've been a member here a Decade, ... things change.

The Moderator was a Superb Artist, went on to Web Design. Just dreaming, ...

Great! Where are you selling your music?

At many websites: iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, Junodownload.com just to name a few!

Give me an itunes link so I can support what you do/have done.

Oh yeah, he did mention his spinal fusion surgery, I forgot about that. Life has it's own plans I guess. All I know is he made some kickass music and I helped him when he was mixing his album. Cool guy and I hope he's alright given whatever cards he's been delt by life. There were a lot of cool people here but I'm done talkin about what was.

Working on anything new FLUX? I've got a little funk I did with my last band, need to start a sound account and post it. I'm working on another band now that just does funk and soul. Detroit maybe was once Motown, it sure is not FUNKY town now. Whatever, I'll find the band I'm looking for and I'll be posting it HERE!

So musically speaking, is the org artist community mostly about the 70s/80s funk vibe?

If you'd like it to be poetbear68.

We have had a bit of everything over the years. As with Prince.org anything goes. thumbs up!

.

.

Until the Mods delete it, but generally that isn't going to happen here as you are trying in most cases to present something others will like, or not, but it isn't going to be offensive.

.

.

One of the most offensive songs, ...and it doesn't have to be Music, could be, a Poem, a Painting, whatever.

Yeah, Prince sent us all at prince.org a few years ago a tune which was pretty offensive.

.

.

It was during the stage he was shutting down any Prince related sites, and online stuff.

I'm always mucking around with a Guitar, either tweaking it's setup, or recording, or just playing. But no not in a band. Getting too old mate ! Nah, lol in Australia where I am, the Music Scene is dead. The kids are doing stuff however. I have a 20 year Son who Rocks ! hug

This is something I did with a friend in 2001. I played around with it and uploaded to 'soundcloud'.

Have heaps of stuff I've forgotten about on Soundclick. Plus more on Youtube, but just a hobby. Who knows what may happen though, if someone wanted me to be in their band I'd think about it.

Any way, hate this: https://soundcloud.com/pa...factoreyez

I'm actually using data from the Oberheim DMX from the original EPROMs on this track, no Linn here, just saying! lol

I'm a big fan of Neon Romeoz and Manki too!

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

I used to post a few songs back in the day, mostly vocal demos etc. I have different musical influences now in addition to R&B/Soul, but haven't thought of the best way of mixing them all together to create a "new" sound. I also need to put my ideas to music as they are still kinda vocal demos, as I don't really write songs in the traditional way. It would be like I would have to sing the song I've thought of and then the right melody/chord structures would need to be put to it. I guess will have to learn to just add like a basic keys &/or drum track and then go from there.
