You obviously got plenty of talent, but why do you style yourself as a Prince lookalike??? Why not market yourself with an unique image? That would make much more sense!

People wouldn't instantly see you as a "fake Prince", which would give your music a much better chance to stand on its own. And you take out the "creep factor" that always seems to come with lookalikes. A total win-win situation, if you ask me!

Honestly, I think your current image is the main thing standing in the way of you being successful as an artist. Good luck to you anyway!

If I were a musician/artist I would NEVER post my stuff here.

Since I have been on this site I have seen some really cool stuff get completely overlooked & ignored in this forum.Most of the truly talented artists have long left this forum.

It seems the only people who get props in this forum are the Prince wanna-be's.

Just do you.The imitator stuff might work on the young girls but does absolutely nothing for us whom apppreciate and seek out new and original music.

I admit I agree on a lot of what you said in your earlier post... and using Prince-ebonics to those on this site is probably anoying to the veterans and maybe some newbies alike - but I'm sure a lot of us have done it at some point in time and maybe still do it now...

I personally am not that keen on ebonics or any other shorthand and appreciate the use of proper prose and grammar too - and I used to use Prince ebonics all the time, heck when I'm scribbling lyrics I still use it, lol!

But I do appreciate the music and if I want to go find new and original artists, there are a vast array of sites that will cater for this endeavour (I'm from the UK, we use "U" in endeavour, lol).

I see what you mean about the Prince-imitators getting more props than the vastly overlooked, but let's be fair, at least there is another forum for artists - beit for the imitators or theinfluenced'? It is a Prince site after all?

Sometimes people just gotta go through their influences to establish their own sound and create their own identity...

Agreed. I was writing like this before I ever heard of Prince.

Prince himself copied the styles of his predecessors not only in music but his look. Over time he made it his own, and now there is only one Prince. But I think its great that people are influenced by him and make music that sounds like him, its better than some of the other new stuff I hear all the time.

souldbro has to be congratulated for completing and releasing an album with video, this is not an easy feat and takes dedication and hard work.
