thanks! I made it a year ago, and when it showed at that mini local film contest/fest in ypsilanti, Michigan... it got no love from the judges... but being on aintitcool.com is much much better than that.

i really love the cinematography and editing. the story is really interesting. It kept me drawn in. which is pretty good considering my attention span today.

how long was the preproduction? and what was your budget?

Thanks! I was careful to plan and frame simple but nice shots.

for that one minute film there was no budget, I literally just used stuff around the house, and I had no help, so no food to buy for people either.

It was originally done for an 8 hour film contest, where you had about 8 hours to make a film and include three elements: 1. Opening a box, 2. an apple, and 3. something old fashioned.

The version I finished in 8 hours didn't have the sound effects or the fancy colors (which was all done on another day on my laptop).

I'd press record on the camera and then jump in front to act (for example I would hit record and put it inside the mailbox for that one shot and then hope that the shot looked okay by checking it).

I spent about one hour thinking of what to film and sketching out a shot list. I spent one day shooting it and editing it, then one more day making the fancy colors and adding the few sound effects. That's why it's so simple and short.
