Music: Bars and Measures? For those of you that have had music training. Whats the difference between a bar and a measure?
And if you know Prince's music, since this is a Prince Fan Site; When the bass line is played four times before Prince start singing in Lets Go Crazy, is that a bar or a measure?
Another example in the long version of Erotic City, the bass line is played 36 times before he starts singing; every 4 times its played is a bar or measure? [Edited 7/17/12 12:43pm]

I took two piano and guitar classes in college awhile ago. I still need more musical training. Anyway, a Bar and a measure means the same thing.
For example: / abc / cde / ada /. That is 3 Bars or 3 Measures.

yes, bar and a measure are the same thing
Let's Go Crazy is a fast song, so I think we're talking about two bar riffs. The riff is in two parts, each is one bar long. My Legacy
