I'm a highschool student and I've been kinda looking for a way to express myself as of late so I tried to start writing poems. I don't think they're that good, but I'd love to see what you guys think of them, and maybe if you write poems post some of your stuff here.

I'll post two poems here and leave a link to a tumblr I started using again which has some more on there somewhere.

The Leaf Blower:

The wind whistles throughout the lonely night.
Freezing gardens with a cold delight.
Branches are shaken,
a leaf takes flight.
With no one around to show it light.
Avoid the leave blowers
that send you off course
let them find their own way,
towards the warmth.

The Aftermath:

The dust has settled,
and the battlefield’s evicted.
There’s no corpses here,
But the damage has been inflicted.
Baby’s moved on with her life
But burdens have not been lifted.
Baby can’t forget scars past,
Mommy hits those that are gifted.
