Performing a Prince medley for solo acoustic guitar

I perform with another guy as an acoustic duo, but he hates Prince. Of course, I usually force him to perform at least one Prince song per gig - usually When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette or Kiss. When he's gone or not around and I play solo, however, I usually do a few Prince covers or the occasional medley. I remember the last medley from a solo gig went something like this - LRC, Raspberry Beret, WDC, Alphabet St., 7...I think. The other night while sitting in my living room I did a medley of different stuff that was about 20 minutes long. I didn't really come up with any particular order that kind of let the songs flow into one another (like similar keys). So, I ask you this: if you could come up with an acoustic medley, what would the songs be and what order would you put them in? If you want to give me the chord progressions, too, then go right ahead. Thanks in advance!

I don't do acoustic stuff (I would like to learn and do that, though) but I would probably pick Sign O' The Times to do a completely acoustic CD, if I did cover songs on a regular basis.

Try tackling the unknown stuff -

Sometimes It Snows In April is a great acoustic song - relatively easy.

4 The Tears in your eyes

And then, just throw them a curve - do BATDANCE, acoustic-stizzyle!! (strumming, strumming, then STOP and say "KEEP BUSTIN!").

SWANG

I used to do a Prince medley in my coffeehouse days. A very Prince-friendly place in my locale.

I started with 'Raspberry Beret' whole song plus one chorus at the end, then 'Take Me With U' one verse, then 'Kiss' just one verse and a hook and ended with a little bit of '7'. I know y'all are rollin your eyes at me because of the whole 'Take Me With U'/'Raspberry Beret' medley backlash, but I did it before Prince started to. smile

It's an easy medley to do since they're all in the key of 'A' plus they're all pretty well-known songs. The crowd loved it, especially 'Kiss'.

How do you play "Take me with u"? I've never taken the time to try to learn that one. Anyways, the other night I played a little bit of 'do me baby' and 'strange relationship' and people looked at me funny. I've done 'sometimes it snows..." before, too. It's funny that you mention 'starfish' because I just learned it after I was skipping through the live disk for songs to add. I like 'anna stesia', too. I figured 'starfish' to have a Bm instead of D. Anyone agree on that? I know that they're pretty similar in structure.
