HAPPY FOR NO REASON
Today I went out On my usual rounds Paying bills Fussing about What I can No longer afford...
Pausing for a Cup of coffee Beside the new Waterfall Sculpture I detest
When a man Came up to me Old and wizened A couple of decades He had on me
He said he loved My smile And that I Was beautiful I thought Oh, great! Someone Who wants Something From me again For nothing.
But then... The old man Told me About how he Expected Nothing From life
And how he Was happy For no reason... No reason at all.
And I thought About all the problems Plagueing my life And how they pale Next to the simple Sentence spoken By this old man.
Today,...................... For this moment in time I am like this old man I am happy for no reason, No reason at all.
I wish this for anyone Reading this simple note May you be happy At the end of this year...
