to me it sounds like a bridge. maybe a little too busy to be a main riff and not get irritating quickly. maybe simplify it?

did you mean it gets irritating quickly when it comes more than once?

you are propably right, i don't know how to simplify it without making it have the edge cut out of it.

did you mean it gets irritating quickly when it comes more than once?

Mostly what I think you could cut back on is what happens in beats 3 & 4 - pushing it 3x doesn't lend itself to the groove, IMO it would be better if you did it once. It's all about the funk and the groove smile
