Suggestions anyone?

*Hey. For a while now I've been wanting to learn how to play an instrument. I want to play either the drums or guitar...So, I wanted to ask..which one is fairly easier to catch on to and learn. Or, which one do you think would just be more fun and exciting? Any suggestions? Thanx!*

I started out playing drums at a very young age, took it very far, almost to the point of being a monster on the drums. Then I started burning out on it and decided I wanted to write songs and sing, so I started playing guitar. One thing is certain, knowing how to play drums has helped tremendously with having a sense of rhythm, helped with phrasing in songwriting and just just being solid in my playing. I'd recomend starting with drums. It's helped me having that solid foundation for the things I'm doing now.

I think it all depends. Like spark said, drums helps with rhythm, guitar helps with singing/writing. Honestly, which one do you listen to FIRST in a new song? You could start out on either one and work your way across to the other. They dont go hand in hand, (like say, bass and guitar, sax and flute and clarinet) but if you've got rhythm, you'll pick up guitar or drums just as easily.

Guitar is hard man.

Unless you just want to learn 3 chord jams.

I would suggest drums then keyboard.

Or just a keyboard that allows you to program your own drum beats.
