IN THIS WORLD...
Tune in to my world Where colors are equal Based on character Not the racist sequel Of what has gone before
Tuned-in techni-color Paints the pallet In rainbow hues Not set in black or white But in seeing people As they really are Not as day or night
As imperfect beings Existing in this life together Fellatious and fallible Generous and gullible Bound to one another In more ways than one
But look what we've become Splintered into desperation Forgetting where we're from Mother Africa that we shun
Still, we remain bound United in our division Floating on this fragile orb Which depends on our decision
Will we stand against the night Will we fight for what is right Tune in to that sacred call Asking us to give our all
Or will we become simple sheep Following dictates without a clue Sacrificing the needs of the many For vanities of the chosen few
Will we turn our heads Bowed in selfish prayer Ignore the urgency to go Where we don't dare
"Because it's society's problem And not mine, as such Because it costs too much And I'm not willing To pay the price It's not worth the sacrifice..."
Tune in to our world We all live on this ship In a limited universe Where we've been hurled
It's now past time to Tune in and not turn off Not sacrifice one for all But to stand all as one Against the powers That give us none
Create a world Where all standards And colors Equally ugly and Beautiful Make up the Diverse spectrum...
Of the human rainbow From which We all come from.
