Broken Glass
Once, I would have Crawled over Broken glass For you
Once, I would have Danced on hot coals Just to know You were mine
Now, I don't find you So alluring and fine
Time altered more Than your features It distorts memories Into scarey creatures
Resembling Jeckyl/Hyde Not the person I thought I knew All the conceptions That I drew So many years ago
If I met you now I wouldn't want to Know you...
I prefer to remember The man who wouldn't Accept no for an answer Who challenged fate Left his hometown Chose not to look back Or accept the service Of life's half-rate Conveniences
Once, I would have Braved broken bridges Crossed to the other side Just to be with you
But you smashed the past You chose broken glass I can't pick up the pieces From your feet As you dance What you call pleasure I call pain It's a place I won't go Again
Not with you.
Once, I would have Crawled over Broken glass...
But not anymore.
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
