ANDROGYNINE

As summer fades Fall Begins..

this experience is seperate from the "James" experience. This experience will include everything outside the creation of that film. It will involve critical thinking as well as other topics at hand, in the learning enviorment.

This experience about to begin.

The Minneapolian Summer was awesome! one of the best summers i have had in a while. I got to do things i would have never guessed i would have done. Sky Diving for instance. Now that it is over i can definately feel a change in the air.

It's wierd but today felt really strange. It was silent, still and calm. The whole day today felt like it does just before a earthquake. Maybe it's me, i don't know. Maybe it is the void of space as summer slips into hybernation and the grand deoso of fall has yet made it's announcement. It felt really empty today. Kinda like a dream state you know where your just watching everything as it happens all around you but you are completely detached from it all.

I am excited for the new season at ANDROGYNINE'S INSTITUTE. He has set me up with some great challenges coming up. I definately look forward to it.

Also we have a new roommate that the mansion and she is great so far. She is a set builder at the guthrie. She reminds me of an old friend.

As summer fades and fall begins, i can say good bye to a great summer with just a tad bit of sadness, like the farwell biddings to a friend, but i look forward to fall. who knows maybe i will fall in love all over again.

bring it ANDROGYNINE!

Hey that's great , like a making of the movie or behind the movie log book.

Stuff like that is often as interesting as the finished product.

"The goal is the path" - or something like that.. biggrin

One of the task this fall will be to build a web page from the ground up. This will include using both HTML and Flash.

DreamFirstBorn, Jew has opped to design the new page for The DownLoad Society.

for this project here is where construction is under way.

http://dreamfirstborn.aisites.com/im1480/

this will be an ongoing project.

Next. Find some one who you think is a critical thinker and write a 250 word paper on who and why you think this person is a critical thinker. Give at least 3 examples as to why you believe this person is a critcal thinker.

you have until monday.

until then,

ANDROGYNINE

the leaves dance with elegance from the top of their summer homes to the grounds beneath them, covering the yard with the color so beautiful to neglect them. The wind forces it's way from the east to the west, and from the north to the south. Fall is making it's presence known.

the birth of a new season is upon us now. crowning like a baby as the harvest fast approaches.

looking to the sunset, for a new era undresses not only all around me but from within as well.

So the movie, being filmed now, will of course be a reflection of the season. Fall.

Interesting.

guidelines: choose a person whom you consider to be a good critical thinker. Then, write a 250-word explanation that provides at least three reasons why this person is a good critital thinker.

ANDROGYNINE here is my submission for this assignment. It is from the top of my head but with some thought.

@font-face { font-family: "Cambria"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; }

Critical Thinker Assignment

The person I choose for my critical thinker assignment is the person whom I was before I became an art student. I chose me for this assignment because of several reasons. First off, I can honestly say that don’t really know what someone else is thinking, and for me to even think that I can would seem quite presumptuous of me. No one really knows what someone else is thinking. Second of all the reason why I chose myself for this assignment is because I have spent a life time coming to understand the way I think, the thought process I have developed and the reasons behind the way I think.

One example why I believe I am a great critical thinker is because, when I took on the journey of walking across the country from New York to California, I had to put a lot of thought into everything that was needed in order to succeed in completing the journey. I had to look at it from every angle. I had to think about what I may encounter, what I may not encounter and what to do in all cases. I had to think about what to do in case of a situation that may lead me to danger and be prepared should the moment called for it. For instance, when being confronted by a stranger who insisted that I get in the car with him and go off to some unknown location for a “hook-up.” My first thought when he appeared was to trust this stranger, but also listen to his words openly, watch his movements and be aware of what kind of eye contact we engaged in. While taking in all of this I had to think on my toes and be able to make a judgement decision on the spot after processing all the information. In this one encounter my thoughts were to step away from the car, without causing him to be alarmed, and decline the invitation in a manner that would not upset him. I also thought of what to do to protect me should something were to happen where my safety was in danger. In that moment I thought to pull my cell phone out, push the speed dial for my best friend at home, who was tracking my day to day process and have him on the phone while talking to this stranger. My thoughts told me to discribe the man, the car and get the license plates to my friend without letting the stranger know he was being identified, all the while having a conversation with him.

The second example for my decision was the decision to attend the Art Institute International, MN or accept a job offer to work as an assistant to an attorney I respect. Making that decision took a great amount of thinking. I had to weight out the pros and cons of why I would be a wise decision to leave everything I had known to go to another city and state, that I was unfamiliar with, leave my friends (family) and start something that was completely foreign to me. My thinking lead me to do research on the school, the city of Minneapolis as well as look at all of the pros and cons of working for the attorney. I feel that by doing this research and weighing out the thoughts that I accured during the process of making that decision, I have made another great decision that will affect my life in a positive manner that will allow me to grow as a person and as an artist.

The third reason why I chose myself is the thought process that went into accepting to use my birth name, instead of my adopted name. I made this decision at a young age. I had to think about all the negative reaction I would receive, why I was doing it, and the reasons why I would refuse to over turn my decision should anyone one tried to influence me to go against my decision and change it to another name. It was not an easy decision and it has not been an easy road to where I am now. But I don’t regret any of these decisions and I feel I am a much more stronger person than I was and filled with more confidence in who I am now as a person and an artist, and the ability to understand others and who they are and why, they are.

Right ! It's so amazing ...God truely is amazing and such a wonderful giver...he gave us double up of everything (except the heart and liver and tongue and the tender spot biggrin )One nose, yet two nostrils, one mouth yet two lips ...symmetry is his main style. I Love God so much. He gave us music to listen to with our fine crafted ears. How absolute splendid is that ?? Some musicians play like a dream and give us eargasms ...God the master worker with the master plan ! Hallelujah..and his funky congregation of lovers...He made us in his image...and ohhh, what an image (that must be).

I liked that description. Being made in the image of God is such a huge trippy thought and hard to wrap my mind around sometimes. What Adam and Eve must have been and to behold....WOW!!!

the clouds roll in like ocean of life, so enormous, there is nothing else

but to shower

it is rejuvinating

inside and out i feel clean

and i can breath now

as i exhale the water break

i am awaken from my dream,

as i stand in the hand

of the i am that i am

The elevated hope

Defining kills everything.

I never define anything.

I describe..

Description bring life to everything

I describe 'believe' as something to put faith in..

I describe 'sex' as two genders merging into one (sex)

Yes sure spiritual and physical is possible at the same time and one should never go without the other...though in the case of 'distant lovers' physicality ain't too present, unless astral projection and telepathy is putted in the picture...don't know if it's even physical or simply deeper spiritual.

to believe in something as you say is to put faith in.... that can be consturted as ' saying if i have one dollar and i put it in a slot machine and placing my belief in the hopes that, that one dollar will grant me the luck i need to win the jack pot. but once i put that dollar in and the end result is now i am less a dollar and less something i believed in. I know the failure of belief, now. I can also end up with 7,000,000 dollars in a stack of 10's. like i said, I know the failure of belief.

knowledge is where it's at. To know. the best thing to know is to know where to place your belief in. Life is like a slot machine if you don't know where to place your belief in. Once you know the failure of belief, that is a foundation. because now you know something.

i believe in many things, because when i believe it leaves the possiblities wide open, including the possiblity that what ever i am believing in may be proven wrong. And if proven wrong then that belief structure is broken down, yet there is something else that i know. some things i know rather well. smile

knowing something is solid ground. say i did win the jack pot and was paid 7,000,000 dollars. then i no longer believe that that dollar will bring me luck, because i have 7,000,000 dollars to prove it to be true. Once you know something believing is no longer the standard.

I do not want to place the foundation of who i am on something that can be proven wrong. Not at this stage of my life. to believe in something that even has the possiblity of being proven wrong, is a waste of time. I am not saying that i don't believe in anything, i still believe but i know that not all things are possible on just believing.

I know sex as you discribe, I know it rather well in fact. I could tell you that i also know sex in ways you have not discribed. A defination can always be ammended but discription are rarely held admissable in a court of law. our senses can betray us.

as for distant lovers, nothing beats a humans touch and when it is in love, that touch is way more personal than the physical touch. have you ever had sex with my mind, or my heart. it can be felt... life times away.

Defininition belongs to God.

Description belongs to earthling.

God already defined everything by bringing it into creation

God let earthling describe everything by naming it.

Defining things makes you play God...that's what the devil wants you to...

The devil also made the God of Good Luck ...you can find it in the holy scriptures.

God is the supreme ruler and creator

the devil is the opposer...

You have to believe in God to see the devil.

Defining things makes you play God...that's what the devil wants you to...

The devil also made the God of Good Luck ...you can find it in the holy scriptures.

God is the supreme ruler and creator

the devil is the opposer...

You have to believe in God to see the devil.

[Edited 10/21/11 0:23am]

in one statement you wrote this

"Defining kills everything.

I never define anything.

I describe..

Description bring life to everything"

then here you wrote this

"God already defined everything by bringing it into creation"

and i to believe what your saying is God, who has already defined everything, killed everything by bringing it into creation?

also when you wrote

"God is the supreme ruler and creator

the devil is the opposer..."

am i to believe that you are actually saying that God opposes himself by killing everything by bringing it into creation... doesn't that make the God you write of actually the devil, am i to believe this?

and when you write

"You have to believe in God to see the devil."

doesn't this statement warrent confusion? And confusion is that a trick of this devil that you write of?

Once you KNOW GOD the devil is no longer in your view. ALL ATTENTION IS GIVEN TO THE ONE YOU KNOW. everything that opposes fall by the wayside.

I believe that luck is not a trick, though you didn't say this but it is implied, by the devil.

To believe in something is like placing a bet on something.

Luck is like believing, sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. It all depends on what you place your beliefs/bets in.

This space (thread) is not ment to be a battle of who is right or wrong, my god or your god, merely a place to document the transition from one season to the next.

Please if you would like to continue any discussion on God and the such, lets have it over in the P&R form. You attept to hijack this thread for you own propaganda has been noted.

Part 1

1. 1. Are you observant? In your opinion, do you notice things others do not notice? If so, what do you notice? If you are not particularly observant, why not? I would like to consider myself an observant person. I for the most part like to be observant of my surroundings. I like to notice people, what they are wearing, their mannerism, how they talk, the words they use and the tone they use. I like to practice observing people in particular because the more you know about the little things about them, they tend to be more responsive in conversation. Also when I notice things such as what shoes a girl is wearing, I can compliment her on them, because I know that when she chose those shoes she put some great effort in her decision to get them. It’s the little things like that, I can use to break the ice in conversation. Especially, if I am meeting her for the first time. For the most part I like to observe the things about people that show their strengths. Because when I point it out, it usually is a way that I can show them that I am always looking for the best in them. It helps to build their confidence if they are not feeling so confidant. Other things that I like to observe is for instance, when I walk into a room I like to know where all the exits are. I do this incase a situation may arise and I need to remove myself from it in a hurry and without being notice. I like to call this the Rock Star exit. I also like to observe little things such a the silence that happens just before an earthquake. It’s like all the animals can feel the quake before it actually happens.

2. how do you make decisions? Do you make decisions quickly or do you deliberate before deciding? It all depends on the situation. I make my decisions in various ways. If it is something serious, I take in all the information that is given. Process it, think about it in every possible scenario and then base my decision on the best out come. I try to make decisions that will be the best for myself and those who are involved. Some decisions are ment to be made quickly. In that instance, I like to base them on my gut reation. My intuition is pretty good and for the most part it never fails me. I don’t always make the best decisions when my emotions get in the mix. Sometimes my decision are better for the someone else and not for myself. I have been known to but certain peoples needs ahead of my own. I am working on that so I don’t have to necessarily put myself out, by making decisions based on other peoples requirements.

3. how would you describe your problem-solving ability? What resources do you use to solve problems? do you search the Internet, seek others' opinions, or consult libraries? Depending on the problem, my problem-solving abilities for the most part, include looking at all possible scenarios, figuring out which is best and then making a decision that is based more on proven fact. Especially, if the problem involves being in an argument with someone. I do use all those outlets mentioned above. I use the Internet, I always seek others advise or opinions, though I don’t always use it when I make my decisions. I find that most peoples advice usually is geared towards there own gratification and aren’t always the best ideas for everyone involved. I do use the library a lot. Libraries are some of my favorite places to be. During my walk I would stop off at every library along the way. I work in the school library, thus making it a very useful source when trying to solve problems.

4. What role do emotions play in your critical thinking process? Do you act on them or disregard them until you can think without their influence? Emotions are a big factor over my critical thinking process. If I am very passionate about something then the emotional level is very much a part of my decisions. But I do not base my decisions on just the emotions involve. When you ask if my emotions do have a factor in the process. I would best ask what emotions are factors. There are many emotions that can come into play and with every aspect of critical thinking some sort of emotion is involved.

5. Do you use words with precision and sensitivity to their definition, connotation, slant, or ambiguity? When I was a youngster I was once told that the words you use are very powerful. They are used to either create or destroy your existence. Words are very powerful. When you say I can’t, then you never will. When you say I will and mean it, then thy will be done. I try to be sensitive to the definition with words but the English language is so difficult sometime because you have some words that have many different meanings. One of the reasons I chose to come back to school is because I want to broaden my vocabulary and have a better understanding of words. Because not only can you use words to your benefit, you can also use them to set others up for their demise. Words are powerful.

Part 2

The Short Staff

Shuzan held out his short staff and said, "If you call this a short staff, you oppose its reality. If you do not call it a short staff, you ignore the fact. Now what do you wish to call this?"

First off it all depends on the situation. If I was on the street and Shuzan was some bumb who held out his short staff to me, I would just pass him by and not pay any attention to him. Now if Shuzan was someone I knew or someone I took seriously, I would view this question as a trap and rather than get caught up in it, I would simply answer Shuzan’s question with this question. “What do you call it?” then depending on how he answered it I would tell him that he either opposed its reality or ignore the fact. If this were a joke that Shuzan was playing on me and Shuzan pulled out this “thing” I would say, “is that all you got, I have seen more meat on a neck bone.”

Part 3: Sovle the following problem:

If A=B

And B=C

Then:

This is a syllogism because the major premise of this problem is A=B and the minor premise of this problem is B=C. So if we have these two premises which support each other, then my conclusion would be If A=B and B=C then A=C as well. I have arrived at this conclusion because of the premises and because I am warranting my conclusion to the problem by warranting first two statements.

there you go ANDROGYNINE....
