On The Road
Although the road takes its toll I look up and see the stars ahead Their light is my only goal They quiet my fears instead
Of denying the path I've led And where I must go I cower at the miles I've sped Road kill beneath my tires Only the dead can know
How convenient my excuses For my excess speed I'll pay in another life But for the end of this day I'm at peace with Devils on my way
I'll continue meandering on Until the break of dawn When the next road stop Rears its weary head
Then, I'll lie down And recount to you All my wicked sin All the battles I chose to fight But didn't win
When you're asleep And the day is done When the moon sneaks Past surrendering sun
I'll be on my way again Free, with only me And the endless road As my faithless friend
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
