What Is Faith?
When the deepness of the night Calls to me... When I'm full of doubt and plight I surrender to you
I remember when You were my trusted friend Through thick and thin Faith is a sparse membrane Between now and then
The game has changed The chess pieces rearranged Rules redeveloped To benefit those Who seem in control
Of my destiny and your own That's what I remember Every time I try to move on
But you watch my fate Lest I forget it One step away From the Void Whenever I let go You draw me back in
With that stern surety Which I sometimes Deny What is faith If one can't question Anticipate its direction Although I know It guides Sometimes It hides Like a Slippery slide Out of control But, in the end, You have my soul And I know it.
