A convention celebrating Web Comics, Print Comics and Cartoons, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Movies featuring artists from The Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as out of town cartoonists. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children.

STRIP - The Dallas Web Comics Expo 2011 is Sponsored by Dr Pepper/Snapple and Amazing Jakes Pizza.

Prizes will be given out to attendees through out the day PLUS free Dr Pepper products form the Dr Pepper/Snapple CO.

Enjoy a day of web comics and sci-fi/fantasy bliss. Q&A panels with the artists, featured trivia and hosted games, children's cartoon center and silent art auctions with proceeds to The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children.

Bring your unwanted books to donate for a Book Drive to be given to Half Price Books Charity.

We will have a Live Art Show after the event at the hotel. You will be able to watch artist create great art work for sale with all proceeds donated to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Ror Children.

COS PLAY! Come dressed as your favorite cartoon, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Video Game, Super Hero or Movie Character! There will be plenty of Cos Play Fun and we will host a costume contest with prizes to be given to the winners!

obsessed	If I don't live in Dallas or close by, can I still come to this event? Just kidding, of course. lol This sounds like so much fun; and charities to the Rite Children's Hospital and Half-Price Books would be well worth the visit. There's a very slight chance that I'll be there on the 6th, and if I am, it will be my first priority. Thanks for posting.

Hello. Thank you for your post and interest in STRIP - The Dallas Web Comics Expo! I do hope you can make the event. It will be fun. We are an indie type con and growing each year.

The after event charity Live Art Show will be great. You can bid on art and jam to music by DJ MATTRIX. The theme for this year's art show is "The 70's and 80's Retro Jam!". Artists will create art using flavors of the pop culture from both decades like a 70's style Batman or something inspired by Back To The Future...

We will have Q&A panels with cartoonists and writers. James O'Barr, the creator of the Crow and Kit Lively, cartoonist for Mad Magazine and National Lampoon will be just some that you can meet.

Visit the Collectors HQ Room to see cool collectibles on display from the worlds of movies and comics. All items are on display for photo-ops! A veritable museum of all things geek!

Please spread the word about STRIP! Our goals are to produce a great event for fans of web comics and print cartoons, artists and writers as well as raise money for charity.
